Hit me with your tan flat sandal recommendations

Am on the hunt. I have found these which I love but am not paying over £100 for sandals that will last one season. I have wide feet which mean styles like varcas look weird on me. Cross over or t-bar styles work best. I like a slightly vintage feel but am open to suggestions. What gems have you got for me?

Saltwaters obviously. And what are you doing to your shoes that you destroy them in a season?

shopaholic85 · 07/04/2018 12:18

Another rec for saltwater sandals. I've had my tan pair for years and they look brand new.

Elend · 07/04/2018 12:21

Came here to say saltwater as well. Very comfy and go with everything. I basically wear them all summer.

anothernextsale · 07/04/2018 12:22

Ugg flip flops ..... for really flat sandals! Mine are on their fourth year now and the comfiest things I've ever flip flopped about it. I've also got a pair of Hispanita sandals in gold, small wedge heel and strappy at the front, again around 3 years old and go with everything!

ChristopherTracy · 07/04/2018 12:23

Yep saltwaters. Worn them to death at festivals, up hill and down dale and in the sea etc and still look hardly worn. I baulked at the price when I bought them but bloody hell they've done well.

Swimminguphill · 07/04/2018 12:25

I’m pretty hard on my shoes, esp. in summer! Thanks for the recommendations... any others?

I’ve just bought these Schuh Birkenstock-a-likes but in gold. They are soooo comfy (and loads cheaper than real birkies)

How wide/narrow are Saltwaters? I've got narrow feet, but I dont like the adjustable Saltwaters with the front buckle.

How about Pikolinos?

Swimminguphill · 07/04/2018 12:30

Eminybob those are actually cute!

Swimminguphill · 07/04/2018 12:34

I like the Pikolinos too! I do like Saltwaters but I think they sort of suggest a ‘look’ that I’m not sure I’m ready to embrace. Don’t ask me what it is - maybe dreamy boho? I have hovered over them countless times... but I do like that you can wear them in the sea, that’s a definite plus.

They are aren’t they, IMO the gold are nicer if you can be persuaded away from tan.

AdelicaArundel · 07/04/2018 13:00

OP I've been looking for the same (high instep, wide foot, cankles0

I came across these in Boden but don't know what quality is like.

Anyone tried them before?

Swimminguphill · 07/04/2018 13:06

Adelica those are nice. IME Boden is good quality for shoes and comfy. My only issue is I usually avoid this style because my wide feet spill over the sides (yuck!) but recently Boden shoes are much wider than in the past...

Follyfoot · 07/04/2018 13:10

Those Boden ones are lovely, but bet I'd snap them, they look very delicate, and am a bit tough on shoes.

White Stuff do these which are nice, my White Stuff sandals have lasted several years so far.

These Pikolinos might fit the bill, but there are lots of others.

Follyfoot · 07/04/2018 13:13

Or Moshulu? Moshulus are too wide for my horribly boney feet (!) so might be worth a go?

Oly5 · 07/04/2018 13:17

I have about 8 pairs of these in every colour. I find them extremely comfortable

Oly5 · 07/04/2018 13:19

They also do them in bright colours

nothingwittyhere · 07/04/2018 13:20

I have these in black. Flatter my cankles, have a soft suede footbed with arch support and were cheap with a 20% discount: www.clarks.co.uk/c/Corsio-Bambi/p/26123124

MadMaryBoddington · 07/04/2018 13:25

Can’t beat clogs for comfort. Hard wearing too.

AdelicaArundel · 07/04/2018 13:25

Follyfoot I really like those White Stuff ones.
I often find White Stuff clothing overpriced for the quality; but have never tried their footwear.
I'm looking for something to wear around town, to coffee, for a beach holiday.
They wear well?

BanyanTree · 07/04/2018 13:32

Something Swedish?

10% off if sign up to email. They last forever. Mine are still going strong after 6 years. I love them.

Follyfoot · 07/04/2018 13:35

Mine are about 3 years old Adelica, and are fine. The edge of the sole on the upper surface is a bit scruffy now, but I've worn them lots so cant complain.

40andfeelingit · 07/04/2018 13:38

These from DUNE?

www.dunelondon.com/laila-cross-vamp-flat-sandal-0079509920001511/

Nearly bought them last year then kicked myself when they sold out. Bought them last week in the mid season sale, bargain at £35

AdelicaArundel · 07/04/2018 13:38

Thanks Folly Flowers

Swimminguphill · 07/04/2018 13:49

Yes! Thank you 40. I think I saw them on mumsnet a week or so ago! I have the brain of a goldfish
