What's your 'everyday' lipstick shade?

I've just watched a YouTube video where the person who made it was scathing about bright pink lipstick, and said no one wears it. But I do! Grin Bright blue based pink is my go to lipstick, it works so well with my colouring (dark brown hair, pale skin, hazel eyes) and brightens everything up. When a new range of lipsticks appears I make a beeline for the bright pink one, and it normally ends up coming home with me obsessed. So now I'm wondering what everyone else wears?

None. I never wear any makeup at all.

MaudlinMews · 28/03/2018 07:31

MAC Coral Blush as a nude or MAC Costa Chica if Im feeling bold. I have bright/light/warm colouring and they bring my face to life.

Faintlinesquints · 28/03/2018 07:48

I'm similar colourings to you OP but find I never suit any bright lipsticks at all! I've tried every shade I can and just feel a bit daft Blush in fact, anything other than a very natural colour makes me look crap. Even macs velvet teddy/blankety/twig seem too dark.

My go-to every day is Urban Decays 'sheer liar' I think I like the finish more than the colour though.

At the moment it's charlotte tilbury pink Venus liner all over with a smudge of Vaseline on top. Works out so expensive though cos the pencil doesn't last long. Other 'everyday' ones I like are Mac velvet teddy, and Mac lustering. Anyone who likes a coolish flattering proper pink needs to have a try of lustering. It's a proper face-brightener.

Another one here for MAC syrup and MAC mehr. Love the cool pinks.

SleepFreeZone · 28/03/2018 08:01

I wear Rinmel Provocalips shade 730 make your move. I don’t wear the gloss overcoat so it stays nice and matte all day.

Rockandrollwithit · 28/03/2018 08:06

Bright pinks don't suit me at all, I wish they did! Darker purpley pinks are much more flattering to me.

My everyday is soap and glory Naked Talent or revolution Chauffeur.

VaseOfWhiteRoses · 28/03/2018 08:47

I've tried every brand and every colour going, but nothing suits me better than Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in shade 54, Boy.

Jestem · 28/03/2018 09:00

Another one for Chanel 'Boy'

BillywigSting · 28/03/2018 09:09

If I do wear makeup (which definitely isn't every day) I either wear a dark brownish/plum sort of colour or a very bright, almost orangey red.

I don't go in for the whole 21st century contoured look, more a sort of fifties cat eye, touch of colour on the cheeks and bold lip colour look.

I have very pale almost translucent skin (complete with flattering blueish veins 😒) , amber/orange (not really dark enough to be considered brown) eyes and very dark brown hair

mrsnec · 28/03/2018 09:22

Thanks Madmomma that looks exactly like the shade I'm after.

SandyShoesMissingShoes · 28/03/2018 09:41

Bobbi Brown Luxe lippie in Pink Nude
Bobbi Brown Nourishing lippie in Ballet Pink ( or Ballerina?)- slightly peachy pink

Clinique Pop/Primer in Beige- a paleish nude pink/beige.

I'm dark blonde/ hint of red and very pale. green eyes.

Luxembourgmama · 28/03/2018 09:43

Mac chillli

TroysMammy · 28/03/2018 09:46

Rimmel Amethyst Shimmer.

Pale pink or nude makes me look like a corpse.

YorkieDorkie · 28/03/2018 09:59

Lancôme shaker - vintage beige.

oohyoudevilyou · 28/03/2018 10:23

Rimmel lasting finish in Alarm. It is RED and very reasonably priced (under a fiver, I think). I have dark hair and Persil white skin, so this stops me looking so monochrome!

iTonya · 28/03/2018 10:57

It used to be Soap and Glory Perfect Day which was the PERFECT everyday shade until they discontinued it. Charlotte Tilbury Stoned Rose is similar but not as pretty.

I've started to gravitate towards the strong coral-oranges (red hair, green eyes) in a range for my every day look; nude/MLBB lips don't really work on me.

Cyclewidow46 · 28/03/2018 14:08

Another vote for Mac Velvet Teddy

Auldspinster · 28/03/2018 15:04

Itonya Sierra by NYX is a slightly peachier version of perfect day. Mantrap was my favourite, so annoyed when they discontinued it.

Auldspinster · 28/03/2018 15:14

In fact, Strawberry Daquiri by NYX might be an even closer match to Perfect Day.

0ccamsRazor · 28/03/2018 15:17

Bare Minerals Elite, pretty pink shade

rightknockered · 28/03/2018 15:50

Clinique almost lipstick in Black Honey

LadyOfTheCanyon · 28/03/2018 16:18

Shanghai Spice by MAC works well for me every day

The colour I buy again and again is Lipstick Queen Jungle Queen which is a bright orange. I've got highlighted brown hair, pale skin and blue eyes.

Lustering looks proper pants on me. See Sheer is a better shade for my colouring.

2000lightyearsaway · 28/03/2018 17:44

Mac velvet teddy or kat Von D Lolita.

CastielIsMyAngel · 28/03/2018 17:56

Revlon - Pink In The Afternoon
MAC - Capricious
Max Factor - Bewitching Coral
