I think I want one looked at the last spring but chickened out now find myself looking at them again. Is 37 going on 38 to old for a denim jacket? And if not what does one wear with them as I am way to old for the double denim look, I mainly wear jeans so would have to invest in some new clothes for my bottom half.

I am going to go for it, as in get on today. I shall have to purchase some black jeans as I don't have any on them either. I quite like the jeggings in Next called the leggings they have a zip and button like jeans so will get a black pair of those. Has anybody got the next soft touch jeans and if so are they comfy? I also like the lift and shape jeans have quite a few pairs in varies blues but the black ones have bad reviews compared with the blue.

I'm 55 and it's never occurred to me that I might be too old for my denim jacket!

I've got a shorter one from New Look that I've had for years that I throw on over most things, except for denim. It's looking a bit worse for wear now, and I probably should update it, but it's so soft and comfortable I can't bring myself to do it...

Early 40s here and still wear mine. Usually with summer dresses.

LolaTheDarkdestroyer · 27/03/2018 11:45

I'm 37 5.2 and have one, mine is cropped I love it!

Astrabees · 27/03/2018 12:01

I have one, I'm not too old to wear anything, I'm 62. Can't stand this continual nonsense about being too old to wear perfectly ordinary items of clothing. It's a denim jacket FFS not gold hot pants.

I'm almost 40, 5'3ish and it's never occurred to me to stop wearing mine - I've had it for about 20 years, since I was an older teenager.

Winchester13 · 27/03/2018 12:55

My mil (42) was wearing one the other day and looked fab!

Winchester13 · 27/03/2018 12:56

She is also short and slim and wore it with a top, jeans and trainers

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 27/03/2018 12:58

What? It's a jacket...Why on earth would anyone be "too old" for it?

I still wear the same denim jacket I bought at 17. I turn 40 this year.

mickeymacca · 27/03/2018 15:12

I have a cropped one I found in a charity shop last year it looks great with a summer dress or maxi skirt. Get lots of compliments on it. As a pear shape it accentuates my waist too. Couldn't be without it

HRTpatch · 27/03/2018 15:14

I'm 58 and still wear one.
Ridiculous attitude OP.
Wtf should older women wear....beige and frumpy?

Notagainmun · 27/03/2018 15:30

No way and I am 48!!!. I love mine. I wear it whenever I can but not with jeans unless they are white jeans.

Frankiewears · 27/03/2018 15:41

Mine is cropped and perfect for busting out maxi dresses in Spring. I wear mine with massive silver hoops, a black maxi and tan sandals. I am in my forties.

FabalaTheGreenGirl · 27/03/2018 17:22

Why would 38 be too old for anything?? I mean, more conservative people might take issue with things like bright unnatural hair and tight leather trousers after a certain age, but I know women in their 50s who rock those things well. Denim jackets are surely appropriate for any age, though?
