Am I the only one who is sick to death

... of stars on everything?

I thought we hit peak star last year. But to my dismay, all the SS18 stock is once again covered in stars! I am so sick of seeing a nice jumper, but oh no, it's got stars on it. Oh, like the cut of that leather jacket, but no, bloody stars all over it. Oh! I've been looking for some jeans of that exact style, but OH NO EFFING STARS EVERYWHERE.

Is it just me? I thought it was cute like three years ago. It's enough now.

I’m a bit done with all the patterns because they don’t suit me! Also agree about the frills, cold shoulders and generally ‘fussy’ bits on clothes. The supermarket brands have picked up on the Joules vibe and now are doing their own massive florals and stripes and combinations of these, which just don’t seem to have the quality of joules designs, the colours jar a bit and the fabrics don’t hang well.

I’d like to see some nice casual tailoring, slim fitted trousers, long but slim fitted tops, mid-weight cardigans that don’t make me look too chunky but also keep me warm, and I’d also like a nice grey dress. Please. (These things may or may not be available- I have banned myself from shopping at the moment until I have sorted out my current wardrobe!)

@thenewaveragebear1983

You describe exactly the sort of style I want to cultivate. I'm quite sad to hear that it's impossible to find such clothes!!

leccybill · 23/03/2018 19:24

Yes - when oh when is the 'boxy' look going out - I have a long body, I need long fitted tshirt, nowhere to be seen!

TweenageAngst · 23/03/2018 19:29

Stars, cold shoulders and cropped wide legged anything, over them all.

BlueEyedWonder · 23/03/2018 19:39

I like small stars, spots, breton stripes and leopard print.

I can’t stand florals (especially appliqué), hearts, rainbows and ridiculous slogans

neveradullmoment99 · 23/03/2018 19:56

I love stars. Never sick of them :)

Uniglo18 · 23/03/2018 20:03

O hate floral over stripes or other patterns. Too busy same with lace over everything, complete overkill.

JustPutSomeGlitterOnIt · 23/03/2018 20:08

Oh no I love stars, sorry.

But I haven't even had enough of unicorns yet.

JustPutSomeGlitterOnIt · 23/03/2018 20:09

Cold shoulders, high necks and high waisted jeans can go away now though please so that I can actually Buy Clothes again.

HobnobBob · 23/03/2018 20:10

Dip hems, I’m 5ft 2 it doesn’t work! Stop it already.

SenecaFalls · 23/03/2018 20:14

No stars, but today I encountered distressed jeans that had flowers embroidered around the torn parts. I do try not to be judgy, but that was a garment but no adult woman should be caught wearing.

BoundByBriars · 23/03/2018 20:26

I can't bear the cold shoulder look. Such a fad!

I don't mind the odd star but can't abide all these slogans!

And rose gold bloody everything makes me want to vom.

Delatron · 23/03/2018 21:26

Sick of stars.
Stripes will always be in, love a stripe.

I just want the cold shoulder thing to go away. Ruins many a good dress

Fuffalo · 23/03/2018 21:29

Bored to death of breton tops.

BettyBooJustDoinTheDoo · 23/03/2018 23:16

Yes yes to the downfall of the boxy look, everything is so short and wide, god knows who suits it.

TheTroutofNoCraic · 24/03/2018 09:03

I want to burn every item of adult sized clothing with unicorn print.

MrsGrindah · 24/03/2018 09:08

Birds! Hate birds on things.saw a woman yesterday wearing a blouse with flamingos on and I wanted to run across to her and ask “ Why?, Why?”

ElspethFlashman · 24/03/2018 09:10

You can add tigers to that too, for me

Especially the ones who are just roaring at you from someones tits.

Oh and any top with Cheri/Bonjour/Bonne Chance on it. Hmm

QueenLaBeefah · 24/03/2018 09:23

Bored of
Cold shoulders
Florals
Boxy look
Extra detailing on arms (bows frills etc)

Blahblahdoll · 24/03/2018 09:27

Love stars particularly small a/o prints & agree that animal prints are a neutral. What annoys me is that something will be a trend & then it’s eveywhere, in every shop. I hate the cold shoulder trend and at one point I couldn’t find anything else.

Blahblahdoll · 24/03/2018 09:29

I do like my french slogan tops & stripes but agree they are eveywhere now.

Florals just don’t really suit me.

Blahblahdoll · 24/03/2018 09:30

I love spots/polka & big checks. Not seen much of that about.

MissMarplesKnitting · 24/03/2018 09:31

Stars can stay. And stripes.

What can do one back to fashion history is the effing frills and wide sleeves. And cold shoulders. I see a top on the rail, pick it out and it's got at least one of the three. Ugh.

The boxy frame needs to go too. I'm sorry fashion world but I have actual, real boobs and therefore your edgy boxy tops just make me look enormous everywhere and a mustard one I happened to try on made me look like SpongeBob.

And unicorns on anything but kids clothes.

I don't mind a floral. Just not a big patterned one. Subtle is fine....

RainyApril · 24/03/2018 09:33

Love cold shoulders, they're my favourite part of my body and at last I can have them on glorious display.

Hate leopard print, remind me of Coronation Street barmaids such as Bet Lynch.

Mercurial123 · 24/03/2018 10:09

I just don't get the love for cheesy French slogan T-shirts I wonder if the French laugh at that? Also unicorns and rainbows please make it stop......
