Huge hit, but long term. You will all have a pair in a year.

The marmite of shoes

I like them, I think. Next time I’m in M&S I’ll to try them on to decide.

Battleax · 21/03/2018 21:08

I love them. They make me feel very 1990, just looking at them. They make me want a wrap blouse body combo, a quiff and matte lipstick.

YouWereRight · 21/03/2018 21:11

High vamp shoes look shit on me, but my dsis would make them look really chic.

LadyOfTheCanyon · 21/03/2018 21:13

They look like they've been designed by someone who is blind and is having to go by a description of a shoe given by a person with no communication skills.

SwedishEdith · 21/03/2018 21:16

I like them. Way better than normal ballet toe-scrunchers. Sole look too hard for me though.

MikeUniformMike · 21/03/2018 21:16

I like them.

MaryPoppinsStoleMyHandbag · 21/03/2018 21:17

I had a red pair from Topshop last year and I loved them. They were a bit flimsier than these ones look though so are a bit trashed now - might have a look at the red M&S pair as they really did go with loads.

goose1964 · 21/03/2018 22:39

If you have small wide feet they're probably flattering however for big feet they're going to make them look bigger

PutDownThatLaptop · 21/03/2018 22:41

High cut shoes are surprisingly flattering.

noraclavicle · 21/03/2018 22:42

They just remind me of the type of shoes you’d see in the Telegraph or The Lady small ads back in the ‘80s...

Tantpoke · 22/03/2018 00:00

They look nice until you click on the pic of them actually being worn, then they definitely don't look nice imho.

lostinjapan · 22/03/2018 00:05

I really like them. Well the white and the lemon anyway, and perhaps the lilac. I'm not too sure about the other colours. I am very unfashionable though, and most of the things I like are described as granny-ish/frumpy on here, so I'm maybe not the best judge!

Notanotherottenotter · 22/03/2018 07:18

Not for those with larger feet. They looked so great on the shelf, terrible on my size 7s.

dogrilla · 22/03/2018 08:00

I think the problem is that they are too square at the toe. They might look nice pointed? but as they are they just look like frumpy parcels. They are going back to the shop today...

The red ones look like Marge Simpson's shoes.

DrRanjsRightEyebrow · 22/03/2018 08:38

They look like you made them yourself in a crafting club.

Buffsmum · 22/03/2018 08:59

Oh dogrilla!!! Those are truly horrendous.

averts gaze.

newdocket · 22/03/2018 09:23

I went and looked at them in the flesh the other day. I had thought they were cool but on closer inspection I think they are ming.

shedragon · 22/03/2018 09:27

I like them. Nice change to the same old ding dong we've been wearing for the last 20 years. Time for a change.

I love the way people call them granny shoes or for the over 80s only. Does that mean you consider the shoes deeply unstylish? Or does that mean that Grannies and the over 80s are automatically deeply unstylish purely by virtue of their age? I am neither a granny nor over 80, but i dislike being categorised now, and I suspect I will dislike being categorised when I am older (hopefully).

dogrilla · 22/03/2018 09:53

Shedragon - grannies aren't necessarily unstylish, but there is a definite tendency towards comfort over style in the latter years...

HildaZelda · 22/03/2018 11:46

Ooh no. Definitely not.

PugwallsSummer · 22/03/2018 13:38

I think they'd be better with a V shaped vamp. The high cut is fine, the rounded shape not so much.

bananamonkey · 22/03/2018 13:48

I like them but you'd need the yellow or red to make them work I think, less bright would look frumpy
