They look great in red, it’s just a new shape people aren’t used to yet, go for it if you like it!

TrollTheRespawnJeremy · 21/03/2018 12:57

They look like something from Hotter.

Luckingfovely · 21/03/2018 13:07

Pure fugly.

SilverHairedCat · 21/03/2018 13:12

From the linked article. Those are vile.

DrRanjsRightEyebrow · 21/03/2018 13:14

Oh my, they're horrid for anyone under 80. Look like Hotter shoes.

nancy75 · 21/03/2018 13:14

i have tried the silver on about 5 times, I really like them but they do look weird and I just can't make up my mind about them

IHaveBrilloHair · 21/03/2018 13:16

Oh my you can't wear those.

Tryingtogetitright · 21/03/2018 13:23

They look like Minnie Mouse's shoes to me! I can't work out if that's a positive or a negative! Like the colours!

nothingwittyhere · 21/03/2018 15:30

I agree with mowglik, it's just a new shape that people's brains haven't got used to yet. COS have been doing them for ages and Clarks have got some too. I much prefer highcut to lowcut. Look better flat, not heeled, and not gathered.

LayerShortOfALasagne · 21/03/2018 15:38

My instep would be bulging out all over the place

Or is it my arch?

CointreauVersial · 21/03/2018 16:54

Ooh, I'm really torn.

On the one hand, I think they look sooo comfortable - I have wide feet, and so often ballet flats seem to cut across the joint of my big toe, making them painful to wear.

On the other hand, they seem so fugly, probably because it wasn't long since I saw my grandmother wearing this style, and I can't quite get my head around the fact that they're fashionable again.

Also, my DCs would laugh at me if I wore them. And possibly refuse to walk down the street with me. Having said that, they haven't come to terms with pleated skirts or florals yet, so what do they know?

dogrilla · 21/03/2018 16:56

I bought the silver ones on a whim. They haven't made it out of the wardrobe though, as there's something not quite right about them... bit frumpy/fugly despite working on paper ( but like everything else M&S does these days)

specialsubject · 21/03/2018 17:02

look good and comfortable (the very idea...) until you see that the cut is wrong and they are digging into the model's ankle.

specialsubject · 21/03/2018 17:03

...but better than ballet flats with no heel at all, really bad for your feet. And make you waddle as you try to keep them on.

the correct action with children who laugh at shoes is to remove said shoe and slap them with it. And I am only just joking...

HonkyWonkWoman · 21/03/2018 17:07

I'm a Granny and even I wouldn't be seen dead in them!
Horrible, ugly shoes!

TheFormidableMrsC · 21/03/2018 17:07

I love high cut flats because I've got such awful wide feet and the ones I've bought from ASOS look lovely and are really flattering. I tried these in silver, they come up VERY big (and I had sized down a whole size after reading reviews) and they gaped at the sides so returned. Next do similar but again, I found gaping a problem. They were extremely comfortable though!

Heratnumber7 · 21/03/2018 17:07

I love them. Going to investigate local M&S on Saturday.
They should stay on my wide feet.

HoosierDaddy · 21/03/2018 17:07

Torn! Think I like them, but on me they would probably look so old-fashioned / granny-ish / horrific /all of above. Normally, I sort of step out of flats, so this style looks like they would be easier to wear.

MammaAgata · 21/03/2018 17:11

Grim grim grim.. they look so unflattering for anyone of any age regardless of which colour you choose.. unless you’ve got very dark or tanned skin the yellow particularly vile..

YoumeandlittleP · 21/03/2018 17:13

There's nothing wrong with going against the grain. They would indeed look fantastic with ankle trouser in spring/summer. They are also much better on than off I think.

TheTurnOfTheScrew · 21/03/2018 17:13

I really want to like them - I need new work flats, they look comfy, I love the bright colours...
But no.

Haffiana · 21/03/2018 17:48

I also think they look quite good, but then I HATE normal ballet flats which I have always thought look cheap and uncomfortable.

SpringEquinox · 21/03/2018 18:11

Nice in red with ankle length jeans and a Breton top

EnidButton · 21/03/2018 18:18

I hate them. They look like they've cut the tops off two baguettes and squashed feet into them.

But they're loved by lots of others so...

GrannyGrissle · 21/03/2018 20:38

Ooh they're fab! Like the total Anti-Ballerina Ballerina. Saw a more extreme version in Joseph but these are great.
