For me it’s
Molten Brown

Body Shop. I haven't bought anything from there since 1991 when I was a teen - I don't understand who does buy from there, as the stuff is so over-priced.

My brother. I get a body shop gift set from him twice a year. One for my birthday and one at Christmas. I think my mum and granny get the same. Grin

alltoomuchrightnow I shelled out for the Urban Decay Waterline 24/7 eyeliner. It's much poorer than my usual Rimmel waterproof one.

Butterfly1975 · 14/03/2018 18:58

I really love my Urban Decay smokey palette and use it every single day with the eye primer. My eye make up is still completely intact at bedtime so I'll keep investing in those products unless I find anything better.

Agree the face primer for oily skin is shit though. Felt like I was wearing a horrible greasy mask by lunchtime!!

Lost have you tried beauty pie’s super healthy face cream? It’s fantastic! I had the chance to try it from a friend and loved it. That’s what motivated me to sign up so I could buy the face cream and have ended up getting lots of other stuff. I love the boxes and tissue the products arrive in, feels like a birthday or Xmas day when opening them up and trying out the new products!

weetabix07 · 14/03/2018 20:04

Clinique and most body shop stuff aside from the chamomile cleanser and the body butter is quite good. They did a pumpkin one at Xmas and it was amazing.

Jo Malone - overpriced. Not that impressed with nars these days. I'm on the fence about dermologica. I can't decide if the stuff is worth it or not to be honest. I mean you don't expect much with stuff like the ordinary as it's so cheap but I've had a dermologica facial and loved it. But their stuff costs an arm and leg. So swithering. I think no 7 is generally crap and lily flame candles. I also think costa is horrible coffee..I guess I'm bearing away from beauty now!

Oh and Paul Mitchell - crap.

L'Occitane
Clarins

The longevity of UD eyeshadow is fantastic, but so is Makeup Revolution if you use them both with the UD primer potion.

I have a Lancome mascara which my friend bought me. For over £20 it's terrible - Boots Natural Collection waterproof is better and it's about £2.

I think this is the issue with me. They're ok shadows, just not worth £39. I have the original naked palletes and I find it's no better than the majority of my.much cheaper palettes. I also think it's incredibley boring (although I realise that's what some people like).

madmomma · 15/03/2018 08:37

Charlotte tilbury and benefit, definitely

TheDowagerCuntess · 15/03/2018 08:56

Hahanotfunny Grin Lucky you

As someone said, beauty (products) are in the eye of the beholder.

There's never going to be a universal product that works for everyone - there's a market out there for all, and while someone will find some products are crap, others will love them.

Someone mentioned Kerastase as being over-rated. My hair would be an utter state without it.

QueenOfTheAndals · 15/03/2018 09:44

I'm actually not sure if eyeshadow palettes are the best bargains unless you frequently use all the colours. I have 2 urban decay ones and although they're great, I use maybe 4 colours on a regular basis and the others only occasionally. Once they're finished then I think single eye shadows will be the way forward for me!

PerfumeIsAMessage · 15/03/2018 17:51

I must admit, the best eyeshadow ever was the Givenchy prism ones. I last had one about 20 years ago and it was amazing. The softest powder, but so long lasting and easy to apply. Do they still do them I wonder. Might treat myself.

Peanutbuttercups21 · 15/03/2018 18:08

Most things not worth the £££

Creme de la mer has all this silicone, so your "skin" (with that silicone on it) feels smooth and amazing....until it rubs off/washes off Grin same with Rodial Dragons blood serum. Easy to get suckered in though. I have learned to read ingredients lists.

Any old face ream with a bit of glycerin in will do me

It is all smoke and mirrors, sadly.

I wish I still "believed" Wink

Ester lauder advanced night repair ....OK but nothing special for £72!
Bloody no Malone (not a typo!) Overpriced slightly scented water... I'd add tom Ford too. Totally emperor's new clothes
Nip and fab...brought me out in tiny Red spots
Ditto clinique
Ditto boots protect And perfect
Liz Earle...great til the changed the recipe! Now it burns my skin
I now use the vitamin e range from super drug.... FAB!!
