For me it’s
Molten Brown

OP posts:
BluePony · 13/03/2018 11:47

Charlotte Tillbury
Clarins
Dior
Chanel

I think ABH is amazing quality though.

PasDeDeux · 13/03/2018 12:01

Charlotte Tilbury

Cockmagic · 13/03/2018 12:03

Jo Malone

Yankee candle

Itsautumn · 13/03/2018 12:35

Molten Brown
Kerastase
Charlotte Tilbury
Khiels body lotion- it’s nice but overpriced for what it is

Annabelle4 · 13/03/2018 12:45

I love L'occitane, but it's way way overpriced.

beguilingeyes · 13/03/2018 12:55

I went to some kind of pre-launch thing for Charlotte Tilbury and took an instant dislike to her, so I don't go near her stuff on principle.

Molton Brown...totally.

RainyApril · 13/03/2018 12:57

I agree with Molten Brown, utter crap.

Also anything sold to kids for peanuts in the States but has somehow become accepted as a premium brand in UK - Clinique etc.

Lottapianos · 13/03/2018 13:01

'Most of them.'

I tend to agree.

Lancôme lipsticks - nice colours but rubbish formula, especially for £25. The colour bleeds and dries my lips out, making them feel flaky. This is after prepping with lip pencil etc

Charlotte Tilbury - have only used her lipsticks but they are way overpriced. Nice and unusual colours but the formula is really not great. The non-matte ones last no time at all on me

MadisonMontgomery · 13/03/2018 13:22

So pleased other people have mentioned The Ordinary - I got sucked in by the hype when it first launched, but nothing I have used has made a bit of difference. Gone back to my previous Korean skin care brands and my skin is much improved.

Twooter · 13/03/2018 13:28

Mac.

UniqueSiren · 13/03/2018 13:30

In a minority clearly but I love Molton Brown. Compare it with that awful 'copy' Bayliss & Harding and you'll see the difference. And some of their fragrances are so unique, the black pepper for men is the sexiest fragrance ever. Anyway.

I like Lancome skincare so when I buy it I get little testers of make up. It's always been rubbish, genuinely crap especially the eye make up - smudge city after 5 minutes.

Benefit too - there's only goof proof eyebrow stuff I use and it okaaaay but I don't have anything to compare with really (only just started to care about my eyebrows) The rest I have tested and I'm unimpressed.

YSL Touche eclat is massively overrated too!

AnaViaSalamanca · 13/03/2018 13:31

Charlotte Tilbury
Most of benefit
too faced
YSL
most of chanel

Lottapianos · 13/03/2018 13:33

'Mac'

I agree. The only thing that is worth the hype is the huge range of lipstick colours they have. The formula however is shocking - ridiculously drying, even the cream lipsticks.

MAC Face and Body was ok, but no more than that. I have bought much better foundations in Superdrug for under a tenner

violetgrey · 13/03/2018 13:41

Charlotte Tilbury, Molton Brown, Jo Malone, L’Occitane, Byredo. Most of them.😀

BagelGoesWalking · 13/03/2018 14:33

Madison I discovered Korean skincare brands because of the Ordinary, so I will be forever thankful. Now, I use only Korean/Japanese things and my skin is so much happier.

knowler · 13/03/2018 14:41

Jo Malone. I was so disappointed by the fragrance I had - scent was nothing special and I couldn't smell it on me after about an hour.

SporkInTheToaster · 13/03/2018 14:54

QYes to Tilbury and Morton Brown.

Any expensive dry shampoo (or ‘texturising spray’)- Ouai & Oribe in particular

Zelens skin care. Some nice things but the pricing is ludicrous. In fact I dislike most of the ‘Dr’ skin care brands who lean on their medical kudos for marketing cosmetic beauty products at inflated prices. The only one I’ve had some success with has been Murad but their prices have shot up in recent years, making it crappy value for money.

RainyApril · 13/03/2018 14:59

My sister works in a factory that supplies fragrances and essential oils to many of the manufacturers named here. She said Lush buys the finest quality, so possibly able to justify their prices even if you personally don't like them.

I'm surprised pp have mentioned jo Malone, I can still smell the shower gel and shampoo on me the next day.

Annabelle4 · 13/03/2018 15:18

I'm surprised about Molton Brown. I love the products and think they feel and smell luxurious

lurkingfromhome · 13/03/2018 15:29

The thing with Lush is that I always thought it was a teenagers' paradise and somewhere they would go to spend their pocket money, kind of thing. All those bubblegum fragrances and mad colours.

Went in before Christmas and was quite perturbed at the prices and have no idea how any teenager can afford to shop there. It was close to £20 for a proper-sized bottle of shower gel (not one of the tiny ones).

I take the point, though, that their ethical credentials are possibly quite good and they use good-quality ingredients - there just seems a bit of a mismatch between their pricing and their target market.

MagnifyingGlassSearch · 13/03/2018 15:34

Molton Brown

Ofthread · 13/03/2018 15:47

Clinique

Ariela · 13/03/2018 15:47

All of them. Nowt wrong with soap and water, and no point in make up.

littlepooch · 13/03/2018 15:51

Charlotte Tilbury
Benefit
Origins
Liz Earle

All absurdly average and not worth the £ or the hype!

DontDrinkDontSmoke · 13/03/2018 15:52

If you think something is rubbish, return it. The higher end brands are pretty good at refunds.

I returned some face powder to Clarins the other day.
