Hand wash and warm water every mo nth or so

moonriverandme · 03/03/2018 22:51

Shampoo and warm water.

Astrid2 · 03/03/2018 23:15

Nooo don't use hand wash! Far too strong!

You need a mild shampoo like Johnson's baby shampoo, or you can buy specific make up brush shampoo from real techniques which is great. They also do this funky little textured mat which you rub your brush on to really make sure it's clean. I got mine in a bundle off amazon and my brushes are beautiful. Do it monthly usually!

Baby shampoo here. You can buy specialist cleansers but I don't see the point when they're so expensive, and some smell horrible ime.

tinytoucan · 03/03/2018 23:17

Baby shampoo. Keeps them soft and they smell lovely

Yvest · 03/03/2018 23:17

Fairy liquid here

Ookmybanana · 03/03/2018 23:23

Body shop tea tree shampoo

ilovewelshrarebit123 · 03/03/2018 23:33

Make up brush cleaner from Superdrug think it's £6, works a treat!

Estée Lauder also doing one but it's pricey.

FormerlyFrikadela01 · 03/03/2018 23:35

Soap samples from lush. I clean at least once a month and some of my brushes are years old and in great condition. I use only synthetic brushes though if that makes a difference

CointreauVersial · 03/03/2018 23:39

Shampoo

Thisimmortalcurl · 03/03/2018 23:40

Keepingupwiththejonesys · 03/03/2018 23:42

bananafish81 · 03/03/2018 23:49

Baby shampoo

Was just thinking this evening how I really needed to clean them as it's been months weeks (ahem) since I did them last

Kick up the bum to do it tomorrow!!

TheBitterBoy · 03/03/2018 23:53

I use DS's shampoo. I have that fancy brush cleaner gadget from the bloke off of the apprentice and it's fab. Wouldn't have bought it as I saw it on Amazon for £££, but then saw it in Costco for half price and snapped it up. Bloody brilliant, highly recommend it.

MrsElvis · 04/03/2018 00:38

I believe you need something stronger than baby shampoo if you use liquids. Baby shampoo is Fine for powders .

MarthasGinYard · 04/03/2018 00:49

Mild shampoo and then a tiny drop of dettol

Ffsnothingworks · 04/03/2018 08:36

My dsis is a make up artist and uses fairy liquid. Gets the brushes really clean. I was expecting her to use baby shampoo, but it is too gentle, especially with foundation brushes!

userofthiswebsite · 04/03/2018 12:59

Fairy - works fine. Use it on my beauty blenders too.

HildaZelda · 04/03/2018 14:43

Warm water and clarifying shampoo. It really gets the gunk out.

Violetrose123 · 04/03/2018 18:44

Fairy liquid for foundation/concealer brushes and baby shampoo for everything else

I have a mat from B at Superdrug which is really helpful and was at least half the price of the RT one

Violetrose123 · 04/03/2018 18:44

Oh and I clean them weekly

starryeyed19 · 04/03/2018 18:45

Dr Bronner's Liquid Soap here

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 04/03/2018 18:47

Baby shampoo.

stopdropandroll · 05/03/2018 19:30

handwash and warm water swirled in the palm of my hand, rinse and repeat til the water runs clear. i clean my (liquid) foundation brush more than my (powder) blusher brush.
