Primark selling baby booty shorts

MummaCait · 13/02/2018 13:50

Im disgusted that i have to write this. And ill be posting a link to a petition to boycott primark for selling baby and children Jean shorts, that are sexually exploiting our little ones. I wouldn't even wear shorts that short. Its vulgar and just gives predators a chance to fulfil their disgusting desires. I want primark to remove these products and re-design their them.

Oh FFS nothing wrong with a pair of shorts we've moved on from victorian times you know

demirose87 · 13/02/2018 17:18
  • don't cover
SoupDragon · 13/02/2018 17:21

From the article

It has, however, come to our attention that an error in a recent batch of the shorts has caused the turn-up to be rolled twice instead of once. We have removed this batch from sale so that they can be adjusted to the correct specification.

LanaKanesTerfyVagina · 13/02/2018 17:21

Oh ffs.

No they are not sexualising babies..

No they are not inappropriate.

Is it any different to a little romper suit??
No.

Seriously have a

And maybe have a word with yourself about how you view clothes.
Because your logic is starting to veer dangerously close to "if you dress like that you're asking for it"

If you look at a baby in shorts and think sex....It's you with the issue.

Clothes are clothes are clothes.

The end.

And i feel people that find this okay are just insane

I think the feeling is mutual so that’s fine.

missmorleyme · 13/02/2018 17:25

I ageee op, the bottoms of the shorts are on line with the crotch of the shorts, they would be shorts if the legs were a little bit longer, but there id no leg on these pants, if you type short shorts for women on the internet i guarantee that they would look identical to these ones only in a bigger size, i wouldn't dream of putting a baby in these, theyre disgusting. And to say that op must veiw them as sexual or aling thos lines is down right sick. I agree op, im in your corner on this.

PortiaCastis · 13/02/2018 17:25

Calling people insane because they do not share your view is offensive OP.

WitchesHatRim · 13/02/2018 17:25

And i feel people that find this okay are just insane.

I think you need to grow up.

CatchingBabies · 13/02/2018 17:25

I don't see them as sexual but I don't like them just because I don't understand why anyone would put a tiny baby in a material as uncomfortable as denim. Babies spend almost all there time lying down and I wouldn't want to be lying on a uncomfortable waistband all day. But sexualising babies I don't see, they are just shorts.

fabulousfrumpyfeet · 13/02/2018 17:29

I can't quite work out how I feel about these, on the one hand I wouldn't think anything of seeing a baby that age in just a vest and nappy, so it's not about how much flesh is on show - it's the style of them I suppose. To me they look really uncomfortable and completely unnecessary but I'm not sure about the other aspect of it really.

BeachOrPool · 13/02/2018 17:34

Meh, I don't like them either OP.

Like 'grown up looking' bikinis, it's the style of them that I have a problem with. They look like hot pants, the type of shorts that come just below the arse cheeks on adults

I'm not a fan, personally

LondonHereICome · 13/02/2018 17:37

Awww bless!!! I think op wanted a big old fuss which the daily mail would get hold of...

TheFairyCaravan · 13/02/2018 17:40

It’s a pair of shorts. If you don’t want your kids to wear them then didn’t buy them. It’s quite simple.

BeachOrPool · 13/02/2018 17:41

Awww bless!!! I think op wanted a big old fuss which the daily mail would get hold of...

Or OP Is just genuinely surprised that others don't seem to share her view Hmm

Why the need to escalate things into something they're not?

italiancortado · 13/02/2018 17:42

Am i legit the only one that sees something wrong with these? Or do all of you also agree with small children wearing bikinis?

Im sorry, what?

WTF is to 'agree' with regarding kids and bikinis?

FFS OP, you are with HUGE problem

MummaCait · 13/02/2018 17:46

Not A big old fuss, just don't understand how people can support this but hey ho. And thankyou to those actually listening to me. The concept is awful, the design is awful... Its like making babies adults.

crackerjacket · 13/02/2018 17:47

How uncomfortable would a baby be in those

LondonHereICome · 13/02/2018 17:49

How is it like making babies adults?

happymumof4crazykids · 13/02/2018 17:51

My kids have always worn shorts like those they have been around forever. Mine wear leggings or tights underneath them in the winter and have numerous shirt suits and shorts they wear in the summer. Same as most other kids Hmm

Marcine · 13/02/2018 17:51

They look fine to me, lots of toddlers wear shorts and tights.

rascallyrascal · 13/02/2018 18:01

I don't think OP got the answer she wanted! There is nothing wrong with these shorts. I mean really, they are shorts. Get a grip.

italiancortado · 13/02/2018 18:12

just don't understand how people can support this but hey ho.

It's not about supporting it. It's about seeing an item of clothing. Like a T-Shirt. I'm not supportive of T-Shirts, but I have nothing against them. Like shorts.

The concept is awful, the design is awful... Its like making babies adults.

How does a piece of material make a baby into and adult? Please tell.

greatbigwho · 13/02/2018 18:12

My daughter has had a couple of pairs of these, worn with tights in the winter and a tshirt and sandals in the summer. I think they're cute and she looked like a happy, chubby toddler, and not adult or sexualised in the slightest.

MummaCait · 13/02/2018 18:13

I've got a grip. Also got a grip on reality. But oh well. Id have appreciated not being attacked and people talking like adult, but everyone gor in a uproar about my opinion. Could've just said 'you're being an idiot but thats my opinion.' Oh well, ill keep my Dd in what i want her to wear, you do what you want
