Second hole ear piercings - thoughts??

What are everyones thoughts on getting a second piercing on one or both of my ear lobes? Maybe even skip the "2nd hole" and move straight on to a higher lobe piercing on just one ear instead? I currently have standard ear piercings.

I am thinking of going to Maria Tash at Liberty in London - so the earings are delicate little diamonds or very very small diamond pavé set hoops.

I am 33 years young, no kids (TTC)... am I too past it to try and look "cool" with a curated ear?

I love Maria Tash too! I don't know anyone who has had their ears pierced there but I think all of their earrings are so pretty!

I got one second hole done at 45. It looks great IMO. My son was worried however as it made me look “rebellious”.Grin

Do it if you'd like it, you can always take the earrings out.

I got my rook pierced about 18 months ago (in my early 40s). I've just removed it today as it was still uncomfortable to sleep on that side and my sleep is disturbed enough without that to worry about. I quite liked having it as it was just a bit different but I doubt many people ever noticed it, it was just for me.

If I get another piercing it'll be a daith piercing which is what I wanted first time round but I was worried about not being able to wear in ear headphones. I don't think a daith piercing would be uncomfortable to sleep on though but might be wrong.

I'd quite like to have two sets of holes (I'd wear studs in the upper ones and hoops or drops in the lower ones) but I have a mole on one ear lobe exactly where I'd want the piercing to be, and I'm not sure if that would be safe/advisable, so I really want you to do it just because I can't!

At 48 I just recently got a piercing in my upper cartilage (helix) and the other day a second set of lobe piercings. After years and years of wanting to get them done!

I previously had a second hole in each ear, at different times, but let them close up. The first one was done by a mate when I was 14 and my dad got in a strop about it Grin. The other one was after a break-up but it was too close to my original piercing and never looked right so I let that close up too.

Anyway I am thrilled I finally did it. I was at Maria Tash the other day - oh what an array of gorgeous jewellery! I might treat myself to something from there when my helix piercing has fully healed. Right now I have two tiny bumps on it, one to the front and one to the back, causing it to be a bit uncomfortable, but I am treating it x2 per day with a saline/chamomile mix.

I've got the usual lobe piercings, plus an extra one in the left lobe, right ear has a forward helix. I'm 44, had them all done quite a long time.
