What order do you put your make up on in?

I saw something on Pinterest yesterday which made me wonder if I've been putting my make up on in the wrong order for year.

What order do you put it on in? Or is there a correct order that I'm not aware of?

BB cream
Concealer
Powder
Eye shadow
Eye liner
Mascara
Blusher
Lipstick

I used to put on concealer after BB cream but a make up lady told me to do it the other way round. It works better i think.

I used to do concealer first then saw lots of youtube videos where people talked about that being a waste, and if you do foundation first that will cover half the blemishes you're using concealer on. Makes sense.

I don't wear full face foundation, only a bit on centre panel (never forehead).

Then a little concealer, eyeliner, maybe mascara.

Primer, Foundation, concealer, eye primer, eyeshadow, eyeliner, mascara, bronzer, highlighter, blusher, lips. That’s if i’m doing a full done up face, not everyday!

This is about twice a week max, putting it on is fine, I actually quite enjoy it when I have the time and I'm reasonably adept at it.

Taking it all off is another matter.....

Can't even half arse it with a baby wipe unless I want a lovely spotty rash the next day

I keep seeing people who put their eyeliner on before their mascara but if I do that then I tend to smudge the liner!

The couple of things I have seen that confused me where saying either to put powder on as the very last thing or to do your eyes in full before applying foundation - I kind of always considered my foundation as a base for my eyeshawdows.

I'm actually booked in for a makeup trial with MAC for my birthday next month so I will be interested to see what order they do it in.

Powder goes under blusher if you’re using a powder blusher and over if you’re using cream, if at all.

You're doing it right as far as I can see.

The reason for doing foundation after eyes is to avoid fall out from eye shadow on your already done skin.

If your using cream or not a lot of eye shadow then you’re fine.,

I do eyes first if I'm doing something complicated as if I need to take it off I'm not wasting foundation as well

Eyeshadow (that way I can clean up bits of eyeshadow that get under my eyes)
Mascara (I'm incredibly clumsy so do this for the same reason)

Makeup lady told me when I was 14 that doing your eyes first was the way to go - have been doing it ever since!

Am shocked that everyone else puts mascara on after eyeshadow. Don't you end up wiping it off with a cotton bud when you clean up your mascara splodges, or is it only me that gets mascara all over the place?

Agree with Chardonnay. Powder fall out from eyeshadow means it should go on before foundation and concealer.

Oops forgot to mention concealer on test of face after foundation!

When do you put the powder on the if you use a powder and a cream blusher because I put powder blusher on for a base colour and then use a bit of a cream blusher in the same shade to make it more dewey looking.
