What order do you put your make up on in?

I saw something on Pinterest yesterday which made me wonder if I've been putting my make up on in the wrong order for year.

What order do you put it on in? Or is there a correct order that I'm not aware of?

Good question sweetheart. I actually only put powder in my nose and a little on my forehead to reduce shine as I have combination skin. I leave the cheeks alone as I like a dewy look and just use cream blush on them.

It may not be the expert way of doing it but it works for me!

I'd read about putting concealer on before foundation but in my experience when I do that the foundation rubs it all over my face so I prefer doing it after foundation!

@Ikabod hard to explain but I've attached a photo, it's the light powder, it's used to set in place the highlighting cream/concealer

In this case it still goes under the powder blusher,OP.

What you are doing is creating a suitable surface for the blusher/bronzer.
If you were to put powder blusher on foundation then the colour will drag and will go on unevenly, you need a translucent powder underneath for the colour of the blusher to go on smoothly.

I don’t use powder on top of cream blusher or bronzer.

Foundation, concealer, face powder if using, blusher, eyebrow mascara thingy, lip gloss, eyeshadow, mascara. Sounds a lot but just a thin layer of everything for daytime.

I do eyeliner first, because I put my fingers on my face to pull my eyelid taut, and it rubs off my foundation if that’s already on.

Primer, foundation, concealer, eyebrow pencil, eyeshadow, Mascara, under eye concealer, bronzer, blusher, lip tint if I'm wearing it that day, slick of Vaseline if not.

If I am doing a lot of make up for a night out I'll do my eyes and eyebrows first (after primer) - it's easier to wipe away any fall out that way and a better way to make eyes stand out I think.
The only concealer I put on before foundation is my tarte shape tape as it doesn't shift at all when you apply foundation on top, otherwise I use concealer to base where I'd highlight.
I do 'bake' with a translucent setting powder last of all.

This is only when going out, which isn't that often. Day to day I usually slap on a wee bit foundation over primer, then brows and some bronzer lastly mascara.

So most people don't wear a separate sunscreen? You just get foundation with spf?

I do my eyes first (primer, eyeshadow, liner, mascara) if I'm going out and really want to take my time on it. Otherwise face first, eyes second.

All the makeup artists seem to do eyes first and it does sit really well when I do it that way. Was sceptical at first though. Give it a try and see what you think.

Maybe a swipe of highlighter if I am looking particularly bleh
Eat breakfast, brush teeth
