Has anyone had LVL lash treatment?

Esker · 01/02/2018 23:04

Saw an article about minimal make up recently in Grazia and this treatment was mentioned. I am interested as (a) my lashes are a bit crap (b) I am clumsy at applying mascara and always manage to screw it up.

Does anyone have any answers to the following:
Does it last long?
Were you happy with the results?
Do you think it's safe? (I do feel a bit nervy about the idea of chemicals near my eyes)
Any recommendations for a salon to have it done in central / north London?

Yes I have had it done several times, loved it. No problems with it. No need for mascara as it comes with a tint but I did use it for nights out.

Has anyone had LVL lash treatment?
mehhh · 01/02/2018 23:27

Yes it's great I love it, the lift lasts for up to 6 weeks and the tint I think up to 4, they look amazing after, you won't need to bother with mascara but if you go on a night out put some on they look amazing

NotSoSureX · 01/02/2018 23:28

If you have long lashes, you will see a difference. Mine are medium length. It was a complete waste of money.

Fabellini · 01/02/2018 23:28

Yes, and I really like it. It lasts for about 6 to 8 weeks on me. I usually fall asleep during the appointment, so I can’t say it’s even in the least bit uncomfortable!

Esker · 02/02/2018 08:49

Thanks all for your replies! I guess I will give it a go. My lashes are not especially long, I'd say medium, but on balance I think it's worth it to try it out. Thank you!

No pain, but my eyes water for about five minutes afterwards, and I just have to let them do it.

WrenDouglas · 02/02/2018 09:24

I had mine done a couple of days ago and went for the blue-Black tint (the darkest they could do). I LOVE my new lashes! Makes such a difference to my whole face but it’s really subtle unless you know what you’re looking for.

SnippitySnappity · 02/02/2018 09:39

hmmm so tempted to try this too, I find mine don't stay curled for very long with the curlers.

MoreProsecco · 02/02/2018 09:49

Been thinking about this too. I have pale eyelashes & use eyelash curlers plus Dior mascara to make them even noticeable.

Could anyone give me an idea of prices?

MassDebate · 02/02/2018 09:57

I have them done (I pay about £45 iirc) mainly for the lift, but I still need to use mascara - just not as much. I have v v long lashes and think it's probably more suitable for people who don't as they'll see a bigger difference. I keep having them done but every time am a bit disappointed that although they look great initially, the next day they seem to go back to normal just with more of a lift!

WrenDouglas · 02/02/2018 09:58

It was £50 at the salon I went to in NW London, but have a look on Treatwell for an idea of prices near you.

FallenAngel89 · 02/02/2018 10:10

Ah I'd love this but unfortunately I'm allergic to dyes so I'd swell up like a puffer fish. Have a patch test first I'd reccomend. They did one on the crease of my arm and it went bad really fast so glad I didn't have it on my face 🙈

Madbengalmum · 02/02/2018 10:13

Its ok, but not great if you want a glamour effect in my opinion. I have long lashes but didn't really think it was worth it. Had individual false lashes put on at Christmas and they looked amazing, but were more expensive.

Byebyebicycle · 02/02/2018 10:17

It depends on your lashes before hand, my friend thought it was an utter waste of money whilst mine are still going strong nearly 6 weeks later. Definitely having it done again.

ArsenicNLace · 02/02/2018 10:29

I have this done. My lashes are horrible and stubby and LVL is fantastic. It makes them lovely and curly and look much longer. I still wear mascara though even with the tint as I like to have really dark thick lashes. I have it done every 8 weeks and it's one of those treatments that improves as time goes on.

DuckOffAutocorrectYouShiv · 02/02/2018 10:38

Pointless for me as I oil cleanse (which damages LVL). I find I get just as good effects with a good eyelash curler and waterproof mascara.

taybert · 02/02/2018 10:45

It’s not really worth the money for me- my lashes are reasonably long but pale at the ends and very straight. Try as she might she can’t get them in a decent curl. It’s a bit better than eyelash curlers for a couple of weeks and the tint is good but it’s not worth four times the price of a tint for me.

Esker · 02/02/2018 11:51

WrenDouglas would you mind saying which salon you used? I'm also in NW London.

It seems reviews are mixed, but I think it's worth trying out in case I have cooperative lashes!

Had mine done December 1st and just this week need them again. Lasted 7-8 weeks. I've short, fair and very fine lashes. Without makeup I look like I have no lashes. I found with the LVL treatment my lashes were much more noticeable. The dye doesn't last that well on me, but no dye makes much difference to my lashes, so I use mascara. It really does 'open' my eye area. I had eyelash extensions many times, but they eventually totally buggered my already weak lashes. And the maintenance, oh the maintenance! of extensions wore me out.

WrenDouglas · 02/02/2018 17:53

Hi Esker I used Glow West in the Queens Park/Kilburn area

Girlsworld92 · 02/02/2018 18:10

I loved it when I had them done. Lasted about 5 weeks. I might treat myself next month if I make some money

Loonoonow · 02/02/2018 19:53

I had it done before Christmas as well as HD brows. It really didn't make much difference, they were a bit more noticeable but not £60 worth. If I found somewhere that did them for around £40 I might reconsider.

Starhaf · 02/02/2018 20:48

Well worth the money & last around 7 or 8 weeks on me. The cost locally is around the £45 mark.

Look for other brands though as well - LVL though excellent is pricey. some alternatives come in much cheaper at around £30 have good results too (5-6 weeks for me)

Esker · 03/02/2018 00:00

Thanks Wren!
