Slippers! What are the best?

Hi,

I need a decent pair of slippers that can slip on easily and are nice and soft but ok to step outside quickly in if needed.

What are the best?

I bought some Mahabis as I just wanted the fecking adverts to leave me in peace and they are ok but nothing special to justify the price. I should have sent them back but I am lazy.

Ugg Ansley. They are super snug and have a hard sole. Have had mine 5 years - they are still going strong and I don't think they smell!

I swear by Ugg slippers. Scuffette (sp?) I think. Yes, they're pricey, but they are warmer than the sun and have a solid, wipe-able sole which makes them perfect for nipping outside. They come in a good range of colours too.

I love my Mahabis. We live in an upstairs flat with external steps to our front door so the removeable soles are fab as it means I can just pop them onto my slippers in our porch, nip downstairs with the rubbish or to shut the gate after the bloody postman had left it open again!! and then take pop them back off once back inside.

I have birkenstock slippers with a cork sole. They gave me very good arch support when they dropped during/after pregnancy.still going strong.

I wear sheepskin boots (ugg style) as slippers! Much better

Dh swears by Celtic Co sheepskin booties (more manly than they sound), they also do ladies booties.

Haflingers. They are German, sturdy, pricey, but super comfortable and long lasting.

My haflingers have soft rubber bottoms. I can curl my feet up on the sofa comfortably, but also pop outside without worrying. You can also get thicker hard soled rubber bottomed versions, or even wood/cork.

Definitely Ugg. Well worth the money. Comfy, keep my feet warm and have a proper sole so can easily nip outside in them.

Homies, so soft and comfortable and they have a decent hard outsole.

Haflingers. So comfortable but practical and stay on when I'm going up and down stairs.

Another vote for Homies- good, firm sole for if I need to pop to the bins, but nice and comfy. Easy to slip on too

Sheepland. I have their ankle boot ones with soft soles but these would be great.

I've got Moshulu slippers, they're brilliant, proper soles so fine for going outside and also non-slip on wooden floors, plus they're quite respectable if you have to answer the door in them!

Ok, have just looked up some of the other recommendations- perhaps mine are less 'going to the door' in slippers than I thought!

My do bought me moshulu slippers for Xmas as I had been incessantly moaning about all the cheap slippers not lasting. I am very happy with them as they are super comfy, warm, proper soled so I can pop out to the bin and also a bit supportive for my wonky feet.

I love my Haflinger grizzlys; I've just bought a second pair after wearing my previous pair every day for four years straight.
They are sturdy, warm (but not too hot), and not too frumpy. I get mine online from Shoegarden as they seem to have the widest selection available in the UK.

Homeys are amazing.

Mahbis slippers drove me crazy and after a year had holes in them from the soles rubbing on them.
I've just got some ugg slippers at Christmas which I'm loving!
