Too bridal for a wedding?

I’m attending two weddings in the spring and have been given Phase Eight vouchers for Christmas. One is a full day invite - small church and local (posh) pub reception , the other is evening only but at a very exclusive hotel.

No, it's beautiful

chocolateiamydrug · 31/12/2017 19:18

I think I wouldn't. it's not white but still bridal I think.

thefirstmrsrochester · 31/12/2017 19:18

Not a bit, what a beautiful dress.

Smarshian · 31/12/2017 19:19

It's lovely but not for a wedding

Knittedfairies · 31/12/2017 19:19

I don't think it's too bridal!

TopazPolly · 31/12/2017 19:19

It's lovely. But maybe a little bit mother of bride? Depends how old you are I think. If it came in another colour it would be perfect

PerspicaciaTick · 31/12/2017 19:20

That dress is also listed under their "Mother of the Bride" suggestions and it does rather look like it. So long as you are sure that you aren't going end up dressed like the MotB or other similarly significant female relative.

ButterfliesandMoths · 31/12/2017 19:20

I don't think it's too bridal

annandale · 31/12/2017 19:20

Gorgeous but yes I think it's a bit bridal. Tbh if the question arises it probably is.

loveka · 31/12/2017 19:21

There are so many beautiful dresses, why choose one that looks like a wedding dress?

You obviously think it too, or you wouldn't ask!

Robyrollover · 31/12/2017 19:21

I’m 35 - and just friends with both brides. One is a bit precious, so maybe a bad idea.

missadasmith · 31/12/2017 19:21

how old are you, OP. Agree with PP, very much mother of the bride.

It's a bit too bridal for my taste too.

Robyrollover · 31/12/2017 19:22

It’s the only one I like - it wasn’t on purpose!

missadasmith · 31/12/2017 19:22

x-post.

I think.you are way too young for that dress.

Dozer · 31/12/2017 19:22

Not bridal unless very low key weddings indeed. Potentially mother of the bride or groomish though, looks like an older woman’s dress.

Hippadippadation · 31/12/2017 19:23

I'm about your age and I wouldn't consider that dress, it would suit a more mature lady best I think.

RandomMess · 31/12/2017 19:23

They may have some new season stuff out soon? I think they'll have something nicer - it does look a bit "old" IYSWIM

Dozer · 31/12/2017 19:24

35 is too young for that dress IMO unless you’re very conservative in your style and/or super slimz

Robyrollover · 31/12/2017 19:27

I’m a size 12 - 5’4 and blonde. Nothing else is jumping out , maybe this one? www.phase-eight.com/fcp/product/phase-eight/sale-dresses/kiera-dress/204021000

OP posts:
WillowWept · 31/12/2017 19:29

You're definitely too young for that dress.

Robyrollover · 31/12/2017 19:33

The second one?

OP posts:
RandomMess · 31/12/2017 19:33

Hmm not much on there that I like tbh!! Can you wait a few more weeks?

CannyAnnie · 31/12/2017 19:33

The second one is much better I think.

Dozer · 31/12/2017 19:35

Also too “old”. Can you afford to get a dress from elsewhere and use your voucher for other items from phase eight, eg separates for work?

CannyAnnie · 31/12/2017 19:35

Scrap that - just seen the back and don't like it. Does it have to be a dress? Could you not do skirt and top? How formal are the weddings/venues etc? What do you normally wear? Are either of them "you"?
