Looking for something dark, grown up, with gorgeous fur - not tacky looking. But not a million pounds either. Can you help me MN?

You don't mean a pen Grin

A Parka ?

LaurieFairyCake · 29/12/2017 20:19

I've been scrolling through coats on John Lewis and House of Fraser today and there's lots of parka's with fake fur collars

DragonsAndCakes · 29/12/2017 20:27

The ones that I’ve seen with nice fur have had real fur, Canada Goose etc.

neveradullmoment99 · 29/12/2017 20:44

Super cosy and warm :) I have it in khaki but love the grey too.

gingerbreadmam · 29/12/2017 20:47

Have you looked on Zara?

SmiledWithTheRisingSun · 29/12/2017 21:05

I have one from joules...inner zips put too which is useful...

AFistfulOfDolores · 29/12/2017 21:11

I have this one. It is amazing, and incredibly warm. Pricy, but worth it if you can afford it:

Didriksons 1913 Lina Parka

Might be able to get one 2nd hand on Ebay too.

AFistfulOfDolores · 29/12/2017 21:14

This is what the hood looks like:

I got a gorgeous fur lined parka on ASOS, they had a good selection last time I looked.

mercurymaze · 29/12/2017 21:22

i like \link{https://www.frenchconnection.com/product/woman-collections-sale-coats-and-jackets/70iar/syble-cotton-faux-fur-parka.htm\this one}

BikeRunSki · 29/12/2017 21:57

I like this but too similar to my Toast one.

sammy891 · 29/12/2017 22:04

This one is really lovely in person and looks much more expensive than it is.

Ooo love that Delores. what size do you have?

OP posts:
SmiledWithTheRisingSun · 29/12/2017 22:39

BikeRunSki I love the Plumo too! Not sure how waterproof it would be though...?

doctorboo · 30/12/2017 04:58

My sil has one of the Hush parkas with a dark furry/fluffy(?) lining. I tried it on and it's lovely and the hood fur is very nice.

Wilburissomepig · 30/12/2017 07:38

Was just about to suggest Didriksons coats like a PP. I have a long navy one from about 5 years ago which is still going strong. Wasn't cheap but so warm and the best coat I've ever bought.

SmiledWithTheRisingSun · 30/12/2017 10:28

Afistful & Wibury - Bit confused by the Didrikson sizing - what uk dress size are you & what size coat did you buy?

OP posts:
AFistfulOfDolores · 30/12/2017 12:45

I have a size 10, which is true to size. The zip can be a bugger: you have to hold both pieces together at an angle to get the other half of the zipper in (it's a know thing, with quite a few comments online) - but that's my only gripe. It is warm, warm, warm - like walking in a duvet. And, if you zip the jacket all the way up, the hood closes around your face like a sausage roll, leaving only a small outlet, so your face is surrounded by fur.

AFistfulOfDolores · 30/12/2017 13:03

Just checked: size 36, and I'm a 10.

goose1964 · 30/12/2017 13:10

DD bought hers from Asda similar to this but in purple
www.tesco.com/direct/regatta-schima-ii-faux-fur-trim-insulated-parka-jacket/189-2451.prd

its a lot smarter than expected

LuluBellaBlue · 30/12/2017 14:51

I've been looking for a super warm properly waterproof jacket for ages, love the look and style of Canada Goose and Parajumper but don't want down or real fur.
Love the Didricsons so thanks for the share, think I've finally found the jacket I want Grin

il0vew1ne · 30/12/2017 16:22

Don't get a parka, I did and I so regret it. It is stiff, got a big massive hood that looks stupid, it is not warm. I wish I could return it but I have worn it several times - as I wished it was the one.

An expensive mistake .
