Recommend me a backpack

Hello!

I’m after a light weight but stylish backpack, either leather or nylon, can be small. I just need it to fit some nappies, wallet and toys. Needs to have an easy opening, as I’m planning to use this for my day to day bag when out and about with my 10 month old

I have my eye on this Burberry bag but it’s way too expensive ! But something along these lines

Does anyone have any recommendations? Thank you

The danielle Hunt is what I use I think she’s a Instagram model I just liked the bag.

ZaraW · 21/12/2017 15:52

Rebecca Minkhoff has some nice ones.

I love this one from Boden. I have it in the leopard but the navy looks gorgeous too.

Managed to fluff the link as usual 😊

I just ditched my beautiful Kipling in Funky Flow print for an even more beautiful Oilily backpack. Both brands have some lovely ones currently in their sales.

DandelionAndBedrock · 21/12/2017 18:30

Have a look at Mandarina Duck. I'm not sure if they have UK stores anymore, but you can get them online. Normally some bargains in the sale.

Kanken

Awful lot of unnecessary weight in the fashion ones - tatty tags, heavy handles, cheap metal bits. And what a price!

If you really are carrying just that you don't need a hip belt, but look for something in an outdoor shop aimed at men. Needn't be huge but will work and last.

bingohandjob · 21/12/2017 20:12

Kanken - sturdy, simple and open up clamshell style so you can get at everything easily. Get one with padded straps - most comfortable backpack I've ever owned even when rammed full! Great colours! I've got different colours in the Recycle, Big, Classic and Maxi - love them all. Keep an eye out on sales over Christmas as I've got up to 40% off mine over last few years.

MayFayner · 21/12/2017 20:22

I have this knomo one and it's great. Might be a bit small for what you need. I can fit a packet of wipes and one or two nappies, my wallet, phone sunglasses and keys in mine, that's it really.

chewchew88 · 21/12/2017 21:37

@Marylou2 ooh that Boden bag is lovely GrinGrin that’s definitely on the short list

happychange · 21/12/2017 21:38

I'd get a walking one from Lowe Alpine or Osprey. Look in Blacks or Cotswold outdoors.

happychange · 21/12/2017 21:44

Ooh the Kanken bags look really good too! Will wait for xmas sales and check the price again

I bought an Eastpak Pakr in dark green leather recently as was sick of handbags falling off my shoulder. I love it, it's comfortable and sturdy and a nice simple design.

Workwoes30 · 22/12/2017 08:36

Have a great plain black small backpack from ikea. Heavy duty nylon. Padded straps. About the size of a medium hand bag.

Greenteandchives · 22/12/2017 08:38

Mine is great. It is made by Spirit.

Greenteandchives · 22/12/2017 08:40

Sorry. It is Spirit Jupiter. Very practical.

happychange · 22/12/2017 11:43

I love my Longchamp but not sure if it will be a little small for you OP?

Christmastree43 · 22/12/2017 11:47

Those Tumi are gorgeous 😍

happychange · 22/12/2017 12:54

I was thinking Longchamp too but my ndn has one and we hang out quite regularly so I don’t want to have the same bag as her Wink petty I know but I don’t want her thinking I’m copying her!!

Definitely the Fjallraven Kanken - they're lovely and really hard-wearing too!
