Not done a next sale in 10years.
I can go boxing day
Whats the best time?
Is it worth it? Do vips online get best stock
Do some stores get better stock than others.

Not even sure what I want possibly ladies accessories , home maybe some kids items.

Is 5 am or 6am best time heard some scary stories of people grabbing loads to sell on.

I genuinely do not understand the hype over this sale.
The seem to ship in loads of cheap shite and people queue up for it! It's not even great quality the first time round.
Just buy online?

HintBean · 16/12/2017 13:00

I thought all current season goes on half price. Is that not true?
If it is true it's totally worth it for me

AJPTaylor · 16/12/2017 13:06

Only if you get there early and are grabby by nature.
I refuse to go but understand that people just empty a whole rail into a bin bag then just stand there chucking what they dont want onto the floor.
Really not for the faint hearted

Nanasueathome · 16/12/2017 13:25

I always register for the VIP online and have never really got anything at the start of the sale
I buy Jigsaw, Seasalt, Fatface but these are not usually reduced until a few days into the sale
The online stuff from the regular next catalogue sells out quickly but may still be available in store
I know that people queue from the early hours of the morning to get the best bargains but that’s really not for me

AmeliaFlashtart · 16/12/2017 14:22

I've seen stuff that was in the summer sale again in the winter and stick brought in just for the sale. It's also like a mad jumble sale, pure chaos. Only good for large or small shoe sized.

AmeliaFlashtart · 16/12/2017 14:23

Stock not stick

Next sale used to be good years ago. A genuine sale with current stock reduced. These days it's just that they couldn't sell during the year shipped back out from the stockroom.

PNGirl · 16/12/2017 17:42

It's all their outlet stock, with very little current season. A lot of the current stuff will disappear off the shop floor and come back out again in January. Most of the sale stuff in our local is stuff I've never seen in there before!

hendricksyousay · 16/12/2017 17:56

I only buy brands in the sale online . I pretty much always get a vip slot because I buy a lot of branded goods from them because their logistics are fab ! I hate next clothes but get the odd kids bits . I would NEVER queue !!

MoreProseccoNow · 16/12/2017 19:33

I like their kids stuff & homeware.

Don't think I'll get a vip listing as I haven't bought much this year.

Agree that the quality of sale stuff has declined in recent years, with a lot of recycled items from the Clearance section of the app.

You really have to be there at 5am for the best deals, although I understand some stores have started their furniture sales already.

ihavetogoshoppingnow · 16/12/2017 19:58

I go for the kids. You need to go early especially if it’s a big store. Last year the Trafford Centres que started at 3am 😳 I went for when it opened and queued for nearly 2 hours to get in

Katinkka · 16/12/2017 23:32

I went at 5am last year. I passed out in the queue. I’m staying home this time.

Butterfly1975 · 17/12/2017 08:12

I have a small Next branch locally which usually has some sale stock left at 10am as would never do the 5am thing. My friends that get up early and queue tend to return most of what they buy anyway so I think they just go for the thrill of it or something Confused

Not that impressed with their current range so probably won't bother at any time of the day. Even the kids clothes are all nasty polyester and acrylic this season...

bendywindy · 18/12/2017 07:18

queuing for Next? you must be having me on!

BelfastSmile · 18/12/2017 07:40

I wait and go towards the end of the sale. That way, you get all the stuff that people grabbed on day 1 and then returned, and it's nice and quiet for a browse.

I got quite a few nice kids' things in their summer sale, really well reduced.

Wouldn't queue for a sale, ever. Even if I was desperate, I'd rather go to a charity shop and browse in peace.

Paintbox · 18/12/2017 08:42

I really don’t understand the queueing from 5am thing. No other shop has this and I don’t understand why next does, it never seems that popular in non sale time

heron98 · 18/12/2017 15:42

I'm sorry, WHAT? 5am? To go into a shop? No discount is worth that.

MoreProseccoNow · 18/12/2017 15:46

Has anyone had a sale slot yet? They are usually out the week before Xmas.

Nanasueathome · 19/12/2017 09:29

I’ve just got my sale slot for Thursday 21st

MoreProseccoNow · 19/12/2017 10:52

Got mine too, but only for 6pm so guess will miss a lot of the good stuff...

Nanasueathome · 19/12/2017 16:58

Mine is for 5pm
You get access to what will be in the sale but I have to say it generally goes quickly and if you add stuff to your basket and carry on browsing then by the time you come to check out most has gone anyway

SukiTheDog · 19/12/2017 17:08

They’re well known for dragging out all kinds of tat for their sale. The last time I went, a few years ago, they had summer dresses out in January!

I really wouldn’t bother.

Nanasueathome · 21/12/2017 17:24

Well.....had my VIP sale slot at 17:00hrs
I’d already previewed and made notes of the reference numbers
And I got everything ........
This is the first time ever as it’s all usually gone by the time I log in
Well pleased...and so is my daughter

roundabout14 · 21/12/2017 17:35

My slots not till 10.30
I didn't buy anything last year
Booked it for a browse but not overly bothered
I used to love it got some great homeware bargains but it's gone crap !
