Do the perfect ankle boots exist?

Have trawled Mumsnet for any recommendations, but no success... I’ve been looking for a pair of ankle boots for ages! I constantly see women wearing gorgeous boots that are just the right height to wear with a skirt and jeans/skinny jeans. I can’t wear high heels, about an inch to an inch and a half, but every pair I try on are just too clompy, not the right height at the ankle, or too high... help me find these elusive perfect boots???? Or am I trying to find the impossible

I’ve just found my perfect ones but they do have a heel. Sorry! I’ve had the worst job ever finding replacements this year after wearing my old ones to death. I’m short and like heels for work and have found most heeled ones have skinny heels or are a slouch style which don’t do my short legs any favours.

I have a beautify pair of tan suede Michael Kors with a lowish stacked heel for best, and a slouchy flat pair from M& S fir everyday. [smug]

Anne I think I would be ok with a bit of a heel if it was stacked, Finally could I ask which ones yours are? Thanks!

The perfect ankle boots are Ash Jalouse. I've had mine for three years and had them resoled and re-heeled twice but the uppers are still in great condition.

I love Hudson boots, pricey though.

Comfortable, smart, love love love them

Flat chelsea boots from Ecco. Not too chunky and just the right height on the ankle for wearing with tights. Plus incredibly soft and comfy. Have them in tan and black.

I coveted Ash Jalouse boots for ages and ordered 2 pairs this year.

I was gutted. They are absolutely massive around your ankle and look ridiculous, on me anyway.

Ash Jalouse didn't work for me either, but my perfect ankle boots are Sam Edelman Pettys, and also Hudson Mirars, which I don't know if they still make.

I have the Clarks ones in tan and I love them more than any boots I've had for years! Everyday they get a bit more comfy and look a bit better!

I have Dune Penelope ...so confortable ..nice almond toe to slim the foot ..small stacked heel

I’ve not come across oak and Hyde before, I’ve just had a look at their website and there are some gorgeous Chelsea boots on there!
I also love the look of the schuh galaxy boots, they look like the perfect heel height and the suede would be a good combo with tights/skirt and also with skinny jeans.
The Dune ones look great too! We have a House of Fraser in town so I’m going in tomorrow for a look!

My perfect ankle boots are &otherstories - flat and pointy (so more feminine than some other boots with absolutely no heel whatsoever), super comfortable, and come up higher on the ankle than most ankle boots - so can wear with a rolled up trouser without a massive gap
