Do you wear expensive lipsticks or not?!

Do you think it’s worth spending a bit more and which brands do you recommend?

Since the heady days of Coffee Shimmer, I have always used a ‘colour me beautiful’ lipstick which I really like and lasts me ages, but everyone at work keeps raving about MAC so I thought I’d treat myself! Is it worth a punt? Or are there better makes out there??

Another Laura Mercier fan here too. I love the shade Mango which is like a pinky/ red/coral and Royal Orchid which is lovely dusky pink I use everyday for work.

The current brands of lipstick I alternate between are MAC, Tom Ford, Clinique and Urban Decay.
My glosses are Clinique or YSL.

I can't wear eye makeup at the moment due to my eyes constantly tearing so lipstick is my go to to add a little something to my face!

My collection range from high end to mid priced, I have my favs Marc Jacobs lip creams, I have various Lancôme ones, 2 Chanel's, a fair few Mac's but I don't normally reach for them, a couple of Clinque's I like the Pop ones, Elizabeth Arden matt ones are nice, I have my unusual ones which are Pupa and Della De La Palma (sp?) and a ton of Bourjois matt velvet lip creams, my newest lipsticks are Rosie for Autograph and they are lovely with gorgeous colours. I can defiantly tell the difference between high end and low to mid price ones. I had cheap shimmer and glitter and look for a opaque coverage. Long lasting is high on my list but if the texture and colour are right I don't mind reapplying, what I really hate is slippage!

Max Factor Lipfinity - it just doesn’t,t come off, even if you eat corn on the cob with butter

Need an oil based cleanser to remove

I love my Mac lipsticks and the Charlotte Tilbury Matte ones are also very good. I don't get on with the liquid matte lipsticks whether high end or budget range they are just so drying!

I think my lipstick No1 is Marc Jacobs Boy Gorgeous followed by Lancôme Rock n Roll Fuchsia (discontinued).

I have dad fewer cold sores since I've worn expensive lipstick. Even if I threw out a cheaper lipstick that I wore before a breakout (I would do this with a cheap or expensive lipstick), I got more cold sores when I used rimmel, boots natural collection etc. So now I only buy Estée Lauder and nars.

Total lipstick junkie, I love Charlotte Tilbury but my current obsessions are YSL Rouge Pur Couture Dazzling lights (the packaging is stunning) and Rihanna's Fenty Stunna lip paint, a red that suits everyone and lasts for ages.

I love the Cantecaille Lip Chics. Beautifully moisturising, with a lovely sheen. Gypsy Rose (pink) and Nocturne (pinky red) are incredibly flattering if you are fair-skinned and blue-eyed. They intensify blue eyes immensely. I have stopped wearing anything else.

BradleyPooper +1 to YSL - I love the soft but lasting texture and the gorgeous packaging. Le Rouge #1 is my favorite.

Love lipstick! Mainly use Dior, YSL, Lancôme however have recently got into urban decay and they are fabulous!
Debenhams frequently have money off them, recently 30% making them just over £10 each.

I love my Dior lipstick, I’d been mainly wearing lip glosses for ages but this has converted me.

I use No7 only. I’ve binned more expensive brands when they start to smell odd and not replaced. The only one I DO replace, time and time again is No7.

I do have some spendy ones (Nars, Bobbi, Chanel, C Tilbury), but my most worn is by Topshop. Brilliant colour, formulation and staying power. Have bought my fave red over and over.

Oh Nancy I've forgotten about Topshop, great colour selection!

I love mac chili, but if i could find a decent dupe for the colour, i would buy that.
I dont like very cheap lipstick as they never last, but mid range is fine

I'm a no7 convert. The colour match sweet chestnut red works for me so well. Bright red, but looks natural.
