Are we all ready? Stand by your beds for tomorrow! I just keep looking at mine in wonderment. It really cheered me up every day last December having something to open every morning Smile

I couldn't see another day by day thread - happy to delete mine if someone else has one.

I’m a bit depressed by it too cider and I’m only 30! I have terrible 11 lines because so I’m going to use this on them.

Nettletheelf · 05/12/2017 09:33

I’ve loved everything so far. Great to be able to try the expensive stuff (eg the Rodial, Gatineau and Filorga stuff) and decide whether it’s worth investing.

Brillenbar · 05/12/2017 09:40

Hi does anyone know if they still have this in store? Thanks

Butterymuffin · 05/12/2017 10:02

Also loving all the skincare, especially the unaffordable things! As newts said, make up is harder to get to suit everyone.

CiderwithBuda · 05/12/2017 10:04

Brillenbar - I know it's not online anymore but no idea about in store. I vaguely remember reading somewhere that they remove them from stores on a certain date. Not sure what that date is though.

chloechloe · 05/12/2017 10:22

Oooohhhh I'm pleased with this, I've wanted to try this brand for a while.

PeoniesforMissAnnersley · 05/12/2017 12:08

I’m cross there’s so much anti-aging stuff, think maybe I’ve invested in the wrong calendar 😨

PeppersTheCat · 05/12/2017 12:08

This was posted on a FB group I'm in. I'm 35 but still agree:

"So i just need to have a moan to some fellow beauty addicts who would understand. I got the M&S advent calendar, I didnt check on the products inside because I wanted a surprise every day. Thus far I have three anti aging products and a very heavily scented body glow cream. Im 24. Im not really looking at anti-aging products yet. I guess I got the wrong calendar! Don't get me wrong it's amazing to try these new niche brands but it's just a bit annoying none of the stuff is actually exciting to me. "

Baileystruffle · 05/12/2017 12:29

I'm in my early 30s too. I did actually look at all the contents before buying as I wanted to make sure I would use most of the stuff in it. I don't wear much make up so didn't want one with masses in, so deliberately chose the m&s one. Its true we have had a few anti aging things in which I don't really need but am excited to try them anyway, just to see! Have never tried rodial so even though its not the product I'd choose, I'm still eager to try it out.

wildbuttercup · 05/12/2017 12:34

Really happy with today's, full size is £85 jheeze! I'm only in my early twenties but I still like anti ageing products on my skin, I feel it makes your face more plump radiant. Hopefully not another face cream tomorrow though....

Tanaqui · 05/12/2017 12:36

DH says eating more cake would add more volume for less ££ than the rodial! Am 47 so products seem about right to me- you young things should still have a kinnerton one; got to earn your beauty treats you know!

LizzieSiddal · 05/12/2017 12:49

I’m 52 and I’m fed up with the anti aging stuff too.

They don’t actually do much so there’s no point in them. I’d much rather have some high ending make up or just lovely body moisturiser.

Nettletheelf · 05/12/2017 12:51

The people disappointed with the ‘anti ageing’ stuff do realise that it’s supposed to be preventative, right? It’s not designed to turn somebody very wrinkled into a smooth skinned 20 year old (though if it did, I’d be investing!).

I’m 46 with no wrinkles and I’ve really liked the posh skincare. It’s representative of the brands M&S sell.

Just goes to show that you can’t please everybody, I suppose.

Incidentally, anybody who liked last year’s Rodial ‘super acids’ mask may like to know that TK Max have the super acids scrub and sleep serum for £7.99 a go (RRP apparently £45 and £92 respectively).

LizzieSiddal · 05/12/2017 13:01

Nettle “The people disappointed with the ‘anti ageing’ stuff do realise that it’s supposed to be preventative, right? It’s not designed to turn somebody very wrinkled into a smooth skinned 20 year old (though if it did, I’d be investing!).“

It’s not preventative at all. All it does is “plump” up the skin for a short period of time. Nothing sold over the counter will prevent sagging, lines or wrinkles.

PodgeBod · 05/12/2017 13:11

Just found this thread. I got the calendar this year as a gift and I was quite excited but like others I’m not really loving it. I’m 25 and it does feel a bit more mature- I was hoping for make up bits or even hair stuff. Day one I was definitely disappointed. We had a death in the family so haven’t had a chance to use any of the products yet but after skimming this thread I’m looking forward to the dragons blood and the face mask.

Nettletheelf · 05/12/2017 13:42

Yeah, that’s why I described it as “supposed to be” preventative. I don’t need educating in bad science!

The thing is, posh skincare always makes those claims and since it’s not saying that it will erase wrinkles (although the Gatineau description gets quite close to it) it’s hard to see why those products are fundamentally unsuitable for people in their thirties. They still smell and feel nice.

AlannaOfTrebond · 05/12/2017 15:48

It's been about 50/50 for me, which is about what I'd expect. I loved the mask and todays Rodial. I haven't tried the body lotion and am not overly keen on the smell of the shower oil, but definitely enjoying the calendar.

I purposely chose one without lots of makeup in it as it's invariably the wrong colour or something I don't wear, trying out nice new skincare is perfect for me.

I'm 39 and quite happy to use the anti ageing stuff!

runwalkrun · 05/12/2017 16:31

All it does is “plump” up the skin for a short period of time

Which ingredient in today's Dragon Blood gel is responsible for plumping the skin?
Does it contain Hyrolaunic Acid? The writing's too small for me to read.
I can smell geranium, or something similar Confused

runwalkrun · 05/12/2017 16:34

Found some 'blurb' in bigger writing.
Bloody hell, it's £85 for a full jar!

A revolutionary anti-aging gel that volumises and defines facial contours by plumping sagging skin through stimulating the production of collagen to help skin appear firmer and more lifted. Containing our unique dragon's blood complex, sap from the Croton Lechleri tree, this forms a unique second skin-like film around the face which effectively protects, reduces redness and firms for a smoother, plumper, more youthful looking complexion. The bestselling product out of our Dragon's Blood range, this is ideal for those with stressed or sensitive skin and who wish to achieve firmer, lifted facial contours.

Key Benefits:

Collageneer: Increases the synthesis of collagen, ensuring skin appears tighter, firmer and more wrinkle free.

CatelynStark · 05/12/2017 16:36

I’m 53 (going on 15) with very few wrinkles but I’m loving the potions and unguents so far. The Filorga stuff has made my skin feel bloody fantastic so I’m definitely buying some of that! Grin

Theonlyoneiknow · 05/12/2017 17:14

Seeing as I have the calender and not sure how-to use some of the products am checking in (still have unopened items from last years shhhhhhh!)

Frederickvonhefferneffer · 05/12/2017 17:16

I might have to remortgage the house to buy a vat of this dragons blood stuff. Amazing!

Rachie1986 · 05/12/2017 17:28

Enjoying it but not sure I'd buy anything again yet. I'm 31.

Saying that, I loved the smell of the mask. Not sure it did much, though I don't think I put enough on.

peachypips · 05/12/2017 17:47

Checking in as came on to see what the dragons’ blood thing was for. Consider myself educated!

Agree it’s been a bit swayed towards the anti-aging side of things (am in thirties), but someone earlier made the point that they are still lovely creams that smell nice and will make you feel like you are having a bit of a treat.

My first beauty advent calendar and I’m absolutely loving it!

happypoobum · 05/12/2017 18:09

Dragons Blood!!

Don't anyone tell me it's not made out of real dragons!!

It's Christmas and I want to believe Xmas Grin
