Very dated.

LostInShoebiz · 29/11/2017 20:59

What's a hair claw?

WindyWednesday · 29/11/2017 21:00

Really? I wear them all the time.

RunRabbitRunRabbit · 29/11/2017 21:02

What's it like and what is your hair like?

babymouse · 29/11/2017 21:02

They're damaging, but if you like them who cares? :)

LostInShoebiz · 29/11/2017 21:05

If they're plastic combs connected by a spring then I wouldn't be surprised if they were back with a vengeance soon. ASOS was full of scrunchies this summer.

If you like it and it works then go bananas.

YouWereRight · 29/11/2017 21:07

They were everywhere when I was around 12ish. And those tiny twisty gems, butterfly clips and chop sticks.

Almahart · 29/11/2017 21:15

How else do you put your hair up?

WindyWednesday · 30/11/2017 12:29

I still wear scrunchies so I might not be the best guide.

Maudlinmaud · 30/11/2017 12:33

I didn't know they ever went out. I just thought they where a handy hair clip. Loving the return of the scrunch

AdalindSchade · 30/11/2017 12:36

Do you mean like a double sided clip with a spring in the middle? They are handy but not very stylish. Personally I don't care but if you want to look smart and done they probably aren't the right accessory

BillyDaveysDaughter · 30/11/2017 12:39

After seeing a whole wall display of them at M&S one day (about 10 years ago), it struck me that the little grips either side of the spring look like spread labia.

Put me off wearing one on my head forever.

Dizzywizz · 30/11/2017 12:45

What else can you use to put your hair up then? (For Office wear)

rachelracket · 30/11/2017 14:32

so handy. couldn't give af whether they are considered passé or not. although i do just use those basic hairdressers ones that come in packs of 10 so i'm not really trying. my baby thinks they are really fascinating!

GaryBarlowsTaxReturn · 30/11/2017 15:53

The 90’s look is back so it doesn’t surprise me that these are a thing again. I don’t think I’ve worn one since the early 2000’s.

Freshprincess · 30/11/2017 16:02

I like them for work, but I can't seem to own them for longer than 2 weeks without breaking them.

DuckOffAutocorrectYouShiv · 30/11/2017 16:05

I use them for work as they are easy to put your hair up quickly. They aren’t chic though.

WomblingThree · 30/11/2017 16:34

So what do stylish people put their hair up with then?

cleanandtidy · 30/11/2017 16:41

They are extremely 80’s.
I think they’re great!
There were so many to choose from in ‘87! Grin

CatherineMaitland · 30/11/2017 16:42

Yes, how do the fashionable people put their hair up? I would like to know too!

I didn't know scrunchies had gone out of fashion. Oops.

cleanandtidy · 30/11/2017 16:44

So what do stylish people put their hair up with then

raffia

PNGirl · 30/11/2017 16:45

I use a hair bobble/elastic. Pull hair into a ponytail, wrap round itself, secure with hair bobble, pull tendrils out. It looks like this:

Redcrayons · 30/11/2017 21:32

I'd be too scared I'd stab myself in the head with the pencil if I tried that.

ohanabanana · 30/11/2017 22:32

Does anyone remember a really long double comb type hair clip from 80s? Banana clip perhaps? They’re due a comeback I’m sure

anyoldname76 · 30/11/2017 22:38

i miss banana clips, my hair is really curly and i loved putting it up in a banana clip as i only had to scrunch it a bit
