Not had one of these for a while, and I'm feeling nosey and need new ideas.
Today I wore:
Black cord A-line mini-ish skirt - Whistles
Berry slightly short sweater - Toast
Black opaque tights- Hush

Black block heeled suede ankle boots - Whistles
Khaki wrap around coat with belt - Whistles
Khaki (or olive) cross-body bag - Allsaints.

OP posts:
BobbinThreadbare123 · 22/11/2017 21:18

Navy tartan check wide leg trousers - Sainsbury's
Grey long sleeve Heat Tech top - Uniqlo
Black Chelsea boots- Clarks

A lot of water, as it was so rainy and wet here today that I had to change socks and my shoes had to go on the radiator!

slug · 22/11/2017 21:39

Long black stretchy jersey dress, purple cropped cardigan, black opaque so and black converse

Ethereall · 22/11/2017 21:52

Black Lee Cooper skinny jeans
Green woollen Esprit jumper
Hudson boots
Michael Kors Parker

Peanutbuttercheese · 22/11/2017 21:53

Khaki combat trousers, white t.shirt, blue hoodie, and trainers.

Thinkingofausername1 · 23/11/2017 13:26

Can I be really nosy and ask how you can all afford designer. I even think M&S is quite expensive! My dh has a good wage but I am often looking in New look or Debenhams. In the sale or what’s on offer. Wink

problembottom · 23/11/2017 13:31

Gap ripped boyfriend jeans which are about 15 years old, Ash Majestics and this white French Connection high neck jumper which I bought at the weekend, half price. Not been in FC for ages but I think it looks very chic!

TimbuktuTimbuktu · 23/11/2017 13:44

Grey Reiss peg leg cropped trousers (first day they've fit thanks to LC bootcamp!)
Burgundy and grey striped jumper- Gap
Black tights
Black patent lace up heeled brogues- irregular choice

I have been making an effort to save money and the environment by buying more quality clothes second hand rather than spending all my money in disposable tat from new look and primark that doesn't last. The trousers and the shoes were both charity shop finds. Shoes were unworn and trousers looked brand new as well.

I get a bit off eBay as well.

BobbinThreadbare123 · 23/11/2017 14:01

I have wondered about some people's collections on here too. I earn a good wage but would baulk at Whistles, Reiss and even Topshop (although they've made it plain I'm too old and fat anyway). I go in sales, look in TK Maxx religiously and will spend on decent shoes and waterproof or warm coats.

LuluJakey1 · 23/11/2017 14:15

Sainsbury’s leggings, wellies, DH’s checked flannel shirt and Seasalt waterproof jacket, waxed cotton hat - seafront 4 mile walk with DD in pushchair.

PolkaDottyRose · 23/11/2017 15:21

Bobbin, I buy a lot second hand..either in charity shops or online. Had loads of bargains, things that look brand new..M&S, Boden, Ness, Pepperberry, White Stuff, Fat Face, Seasalt, Laura Ashley, Joules..etc etc..the rest I buy from Next, Asda, Primark, Sainsburys etc. I don't really care where things come from, as long as I like them.

LifeofClimb · 23/11/2017 15:23

I buy second hand designer or TK Maxx, or if I buy direct (or from a department shop) then I have saved and not bought any similar cheap items for a long, long time! (years)

Blush Today I am a mess. Going straight to the gym after work.
Nike leggings, Nike trainers, H&M sports bra, ASOS vest, a fleece hoody (with build in snood - I am warm!!). Can't remember brand of the latter, it was from Cotswolds.

BobbinThreadbare123 · 23/11/2017 15:39

Same here, Polka. I get a surprising number of compliments about any Sainsbury's clothes that I have.

I tried eBay but I am just finding a lot of junk now.

PolkaDottyRose · 23/11/2017 15:43

There are some good groups on Facebook...Loved Labels, Crew White Stuff, and lots of Joules ones too.

TheQueenOfWands · 23/11/2017 15:44

An American Horror Story hoodie and Ghostbusters knickers.

Not left the house and nor do I intend to.

Deathraystare · 23/11/2017 16:21

Well, do not look to me for style ideas!! A black t shirt from Primark that says "Needs more coffee". As I had forgotten I was working this afternoon, and got a text whilst shopping about work, I guess I do need more coffee, especially as I had not drunk any today and was drinking tea! Oh and wearing my Monsoon jeans which fit perfectly!

AnaViaSalamanca · 23/11/2017 17:03

work from home day

  • Gap terry joggers - gray
  • Gap t-shirt - light gray
  • jigsaw jumper on top of the t-shirt - gray
  • mismatched socks (unintentional)
To go out: green silk shawl (street buy from India), Vince leather jacket, Asics running shoes in bubblegum pink.

I am a sight today :-)

BusterGonad · 23/11/2017 17:04

Today I'm poorly so I'm wearing black leggings from Sainsburys, my husbands old tshirt which I wear to bed, a H&M slouchy jumper which I thought was nice on me until I saw a photo and I looked hideous so it's now just for home wear, and a hooded owl print dressing gown from Sainsburys, when I left the house a put in my navy and turquoise New Balance trainers and my Alexa for M&S hooded faux fur jacket. I didn't even put a bra on as I felt too ill and only went out to pick my son up from school and go to the doctors!

Judydreamsofhorses · 23/11/2017 21:57

Black skinny jeans - All Saints
Mustard patterned blouse - Topshop
Mustard and tan striped slightly cropped jumper over the blouse - New Look
Black leather biker boots - Ugg
Long gold and tiger’s eye pendant - Whistles
Leopard print faux fur coat - ASOS

buster ,hope you feel better soon.

CountFosco · 23/11/2017 23:33

Well there are people on here on very high salaries and their OH will be as well, if you think M&S is expensive that suggests to me you've not got that much disposable income. I don't buy designer but I do buy at top of the high street prices. I've kept a list of what I've spent this year on clothes for myself and it has been about £150-£200 a month but I only buy a couple of items a month and wear things to destruction. I'd say it's partly because I've lost a lot of weight this year if it wasn't for the fact that as part of my spending I've bought 8 pairs of shoes! I do have a shoe addiction though.

Anyway, outfit of the day:
Black chelsea boots, Jones the bootmaker
Black v-neck Tara dress, Hush
Forest green jump, COS
Black wooly tights

OlennasWimple · 24/11/2017 01:04

Today I wore what I wear most days: Seasalt dress and flip flops. Yesterday I wore Gap slouchy trousers and a Uniqlo vest top and flip flops

(I don't live in the UK....)

allfurcoatnoknickers · 24/11/2017 03:43

Leopard print Equipment silk shirt
Dark grey JBrand straight leg jeans with ankles cuffed
Gold LK Bennett ballet pumps

When I went out earlier today I chucked on my forever21 suede cropped jacket with 80s-tastic fringing. The 80s are back and i@‘ embracing it Grin

allfurcoatnoknickers · 24/11/2017 03:46

@Thinkingofausername1 it all sounds expensive, but the jeans were $50 from a sample sale, Equipment shirt was $15 off eBay, the jacket was cheap as chips in the Forever 21 sale. The Lk Bennett ballet pumps were around £75 from the outlet, so worth almost as much as the rest of the outfit put together.

DH and I are high earners, but I also get a real sense of satisfaction out of getting a bargain. I almost never buy anything a full price Grin

Floisme · 24/11/2017 09:56

Can I be really nosy and ask how you can all afford designer.
My new year's resolution was to buy second hand as much as possible so (apart from Christophe Lemaire for Uniqlo when I fell right off the wagon) most of my recent buys are from dress agencies, vintage shops, charity shops or weigh and pay sales. I'm always upfront about it for various reasons. (If I'm honest, one of them is so I can have a little brag.) I really hope that no-one, however low or high their income, is put off posting on here. I, for one, really enjoy hearing about a full spread of shops.

Where I am guilty is that I normally only post when I'm feeling quite pleased with my outfit, which was why I opened the thread this morning. But I've started so I'll finish. I'm just off to work and I'm wearing:
Navy, flannel, slim leg, ankle length trousers. These are Margaret Howell, from a dress agency which I had altered to fit.
Cropped, slightly oversized sweatshirt - charity shop / & Other Stories.
Just visible, stripy cotton T shirt - Gap.
Doc Martens - had these around 25 years.
Flash of fishnet sock - TK Maxx.
Harris Tweed overcoat - charity shop, no label.
Khaki, thick canvass cross body bag (suffering with my back and leather is too heavy) - army surplus.
Stripy scarf - JW Anderson for Uniqlo

Think we're all a bit guilty of that though. I didn't post on Sunday because I spent most of the day in my yoga kit. But in the interests of balance I'm off work today with a poorly child so my clothing choices are based on whay's been half worn and will need a wash. So...

No shoes, just supermarket black socks.
Faded black jeans, Bench but bought in TKMaxx so cheap. Started off as skinnies but I've lost weight so had them taken in at the waist and they look more like boyfriend jeans now.
Red science geek t-shirt from Redbubble
Grey slouchy jumper Jigsaw, bought half price in the sale

RubbishMantra · 24/11/2017 11:24

I discovered the Christope Lemaire collection at Uniqlo thanks to one of your posts, Flo Smile.

Today still in my Sainsburys PJs, so will post yesterday's - Charcoal Stella star jumper from Hush over a Cos mock scallop collar shirt, short dark green Hush flippy skirt, charcoal tights, and a new pair of black brogues with outsize eyelets tied with a grosgrain bow, (a very excellent and bargainous La Redoute sale find.) Hush olive parka over the top of everything, with furry lining firmly buttoned in place! And my New Favourite Acquisition, a black and red striped Givenchy pyramid tote.

I buy a lot of stuff from Hush. Blush Their clothes are so COMFY though!
