'Normal' dress for wedding

Can anyone help or advise?

DP and I are planning to get married next year. Very low key registry office style and although I would like to wear a nice dress I don't want to wear a full on wedding dress. I would like to feel special but also have something that I could wear again. I'm happy to spend a few hundred on the right thing so it's not about frugality rather I would like to get lots of enjoyment out of such a special piece instead of it gathering dust in the back of my wardrobe.

The closest dress I've seen in style and colour (I'm set on red) is this one from Boden and although it's more dressy than my day to day it isn't exactly special.

Has anyone seen anything similar in a nicer fabric?
Also, did anyone or is anyone planning to do the same and get married in something they could wear again? How was it for you?

For reference, I'm a size 10, 5'6" and a pear (34, 29, 39)

Do you want sleeves? I was only looking at them, but there’s some beautiful sleeveless dresses.

Decades ago, my registry office wedding was similarly low key (but in summer). I wore a very simple aqua Jackie O style knee-length sleeveless fitted shift and collarless jacket in a lovely wool silk mix. Since then it has been to countless weddings, most recently my niece's last year, under a Zara jacket; the jacket gets worn with other dresses and over white trousers. I think it was Jil Sander, and it cost £££ then, but it still (just) fits (thanx to Spanx).

Lux Fix has a fab selection of dresses. I wore a Nancy Mac one for my wedding. I also really liked Pretty Eccentric dresses.

Thanks for all the suggestions some gorgeous dresses!

I think sleeves is going to be a must as I want to feel comfortable and I do tend to feel the cold too!
guns congratulations, have a fabulous day. Hadn't thought about Coast so I'll have a good trawl through.

Nearly do you have experience of the Bombshell dresses? They are beautiful but the thought of elastane on my hips is the stuff of nightmares! I'm wondering if the fabric has enough structure to create a smooth line over my undulating bottom half?!

Never heard of Lux Fix before but they have some lovely things.

I got married in a black playsuit but also had a red Closet dress as back up.

This is stunning.

Billy I did get married in a Bombshell dress (ivory coloured) - it was quite a heavy crepe fabric, nicely lined and not clingy at all. I'm not sure if the red dress linked to is the same fabric as mine, mainly as the one I had was a bit more expensive.

If I was going to wear white I'd so have this! Perfect for the woman who lives in denim!
