Do you wear socks with heels? Come this way

Pls tell me about your sock wearing with heels/high heels.

I happened to try on one of my many abandoned heels yesterday whilst still wearing a sock...it was amazing! Suddenly I could walk in them, they were soooo comfy if a bit quirky looking. I e since goggled sock and heel wearing and it’s like a new world. But I’m worrried it might just be for the really alternative out there type?

Would you find it weird if you friend turned up in smart skirt suit socks and heels shoes for instance?

Would greatly appreciate photos too if you have any.

In the best version of this I saw recently they were fishnet socks. A really wide fishnet. And black heels with quite a tailored/fitted look above - all black iirc and possibly Mary Quant-ish hair/make-up?

She looked fab. She was very beautiful anyway I think. And rocking the socks 😊

I hardly ever wear heels but I almost always do this when I do wear them and even with flats too. I find my feet almost always rub in shoes without socks and are so uncomfy. I don't really care what anyone else thinks anyway, but I don't think people are really bothered because I'm 23 and have always done this, I do have a bit of an 'alternative' style though and I carry my outfits as if they are no big deal which I think people accept as them then being no big deal. Regardless I would rather be comfy anyway.

I mostly wear plain socks, sometimes with a frilly bit around the top, or I wear thin 'pop-socks' in black with a pattern on them, sometimes with frilly bit around the top, or fish-net socks. I guess some people may think I look hideous but I don't care .

Love the sound of your outfit OP. Bet you looked amazing. I'm in cold Yorkshire and was wearing walking boots, wooly tights under my jeans, cashmere jumper, jacket, scarf and gloves. Still cold as well!

Fishnet socks (as mentioned by a previous poster) are, I reckon, the gateway to this look for the timorous.

I've just bought some with a view to wearing them with my high heels and jeans. When I get brave, I'll move on to skirts.

Go 'ead girls!! Glad more people are joining the comfort that is socks-and-heels . If anyone thinks you look vile they won't tell you anyway so you can live happy in your comfort as I do .

I quite like the look. My ankles wouldn't suit the look though. I think really delicate, short ankle socks that sit right on, or ruche down to the ankle would work best. The Sock Shop have loads of lovely pairs.

I’m feeling all the lurve.... Thanks for all the compliments about my outfit. It really did feel super comfortable if rather trendy as well. I think it really is me. Im not sure fish net socks will be as comfortable as proper socks ifyswim but I am going to buy a pair as I’ve googled them and it really does look nice. Would love to hear stories of any ‘sockers’, so please keep us all posted.

Well I am a size 16, of the ‘edgy quirky’ side of fashion and I always wear visible socks with heels and sandals. Not woolly socks though! Glittery ones, patterned pop sock ones, fish net ones.

I think it's a great look. Easy to wear and instantly makes me feel a bit more edgy. I am fairly quirky though and definitely how I dress isn't everyone's cup of tea but I don't give two shits

I find it quite liberating to put clothes together that don't go. I get the most compliments when I'm dressed as a children's tv presenter circa 1979 (yes I think of outfits in terms of costumes, usually helpfully supplied by mates) my particular favourite was being told I looked like a Christian librarian with a crack habit ha ha ha.

I do! I dress a lot like the first two photos you posted. I often wear grey socks with a white crochet frill or glitter socks.

I saw a girl with high heels and cropped trousers wearing socks and she looked fantastic. I told my daughter how cool it looked - i think I'm a bit too old (48) but if I can find a way to do it without looking ridiculous I certainly will
