Really dry lips can't find a good Balm!

I’ve tried so many lip balms, I used to love Burts Bees honey one but all of a sudden my lips are so chapped nothing is working.

Any recommendations for a really good Balm please?

I can only use original Carmex too. The cherry ones are shit. And bizarrely I think the one in the tube is rubbish, but the one in the tub is great, although they're the same thing. It's odd.

Last night before bed I put on the blistex in white tube and then put a layer of the original lanolips over the top. Lips feel smooth and plump this morning! I originally said I didn't like the blistex but with the thick lanolips on top I'm quite liking the effect, so may continue this in the evenings and just use my pomegranate burts bees during day. Grin

I use carmex during the day and by terry baume de rose before bed

StEthelburgaOfBarking · 03/10/2017 11:39

Another vote for Blistex.

Lasinoh nipple cream, works overnight, 1 tube lasts forever.

Flatbum · 03/10/2017 17:11

Try a hemp based one, always the best stuff IMO or carmex

Flatbum · 03/10/2017 17:12

Oh and the one in the tub is better than the tube one for some reason (carmex) Hmm and the original one not all these dumb flavours

pasta261 · 03/10/2017 17:31

Chapstick original (black and dark blue one) my go to for years

Have tried nearly all of the ones mentioned. The one which has for me is Nova Scotia Fisherman Extreme Skin Care Sea Kelp lip balm which I got from their website Nova Scotia fisherman.com. It's only about £3.95 and lasts for ages. Has got rid of persistent flaking, roughness and crappiness.

Thank you, I have a list to work through :) Let sea kelp lip balm sounds interesting

Extra virgin olive oil. Drink it.

WomblingThree · 03/10/2017 23:35

La Roche Posay Cicaplast for lips is really good.

Tangfastics · 04/10/2017 03:26

Carmex - but agree it MUST be the one in the tub!

HoneyWheeler · 04/10/2017 03:33

I suffer with chapped lips a lot, and basically the best advice I had was that the balm doesn’t actually do anything apart from give your lips an opportunity to repair themselves because you’re not licking them.

You’ve probably already done this, but try upping your water intake big time, as dehydration might be the underlying cause.

Lozmatoz · 04/10/2017 04:24

Rehydration - drink some water

Silverstreaks · 04/10/2017 07:34

Carmex in the pot.
Not the tube or the tinted lip balm, neither have the magic of the original.

kw1091 · 04/10/2017 18:22

Another vote for nipple cream

Fermented papaya (the one in the red packaging with black print-forgot the name) Lucas Papaw Ointment! Get from Amazon, you can use it for everything.
I got Nuxe in a tube and was bitterly disappointed, is the tub better??

carolhere · 04/10/2017 18:56

Palmers coco butter balm works for me.

Sparkletastic · 04/10/2017 20:00

Another vote for Nuxe Reve de Miel
Also Eve Lom and the Clarins one in a blue tube.

annaharvey · 04/10/2017 20:25

Elizabeth Arden 8 hour lip balm is really good. Its a bit pricey but its worth it. It smoothens the lips and protects the skin from breaking. Try it and share your thoughts. I think its in Debenhams.

emma1282 · 24/11/2017 19:53

Try EOS Organic lip balm. I used the bluberry flavour and it worked great for me. Its rich in vitamin E as well.

endehors · 24/11/2017 20:09

Flexitol (more well known for their cracked heels cream) do a good lip balm in a tube.
Failing that the only thing that helps me with chapped lips is Rose and Co Apothecary rose lip salve (the one in the tin).
