Really dry lips can't find a good Balm!

I’ve tried so many lip balms, I used to love Burts Bees honey one but all of a sudden my lips are so chapped nothing is working.

Any recommendations for a really good Balm please?

Vaseline is godsend!

MountainDweller · 01/10/2017 23:24

L’Occitane ultra rich lip balm in the white tube, or Clarins lip oil - lovely but spendy!

MmmmmmmChips · 01/10/2017 23:25

Nuxe one in the pot is the bomb (or balm! 🙄)

user1487372252 · 01/10/2017 23:27

I thought all balms were short term but all eventually dried lips. Maybe I'm wrong. Do you drink enough water?

Ttbb · 01/10/2017 23:37

Jurlique love balm
Fermented papaya (the one in the red packaging with black print-forgot the name)
Beauty Pie lip oil

Lypsyl is the only thing that's ever worked for me.

LondonSouth28 · 02/10/2017 06:52

The nipple cream Bepanthen. A dermatologist recommended it to be 20 years ago - I've never used anything else for my lips since

MarjorySunshineDust · 02/10/2017 07:36

Nuxe is by far the best one I've used!

silkpyjamasallday · 02/10/2017 07:53

I swear by kiehls, no smell no stickiness no residue once it's sunk in. You only need the tiniest little bit.

talkshowhost97 · 02/10/2017 07:59

Another vote for Lansinoh nipple cream. Best ever for severe chapped anything!

AnnaBay · 02/10/2017 08:07

I'm with Nonotmeori, plain old Vaseline. I don't bother with the little tins either, I buy the plastic tubs.

mintmagnummm · 02/10/2017 08:12

The original lanolips at night and during day burts bees (I can't use the honey one) the pomegranate one is great though.
The white tube of blistex makes my lips really dry, it's quite strong and I think it contains alcohol. Nuxe one in tub was awful despite the rave reviews! Just shows everyone is different.

Sgtmajormummy · 02/10/2017 08:24

Another vote For Nuxe Rêve de Miel in a pot. It also helps with calming and healing cold sores.

clickers123 · 02/10/2017 08:33

Blistex!!!!

Cheesymonster · 02/10/2017 08:42

PickAChew where do you buy the quantum cold stick from please?

OCSockOrphanage · 02/10/2017 13:17

Elemis Minty Moisture in the stick £4, or cheaper on eBay. All About Lips lotion, Clinique, if everything else fails £15-20. Nuxe too about £7 IIRC. Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask - about £17 if you are fancying K-beauty.

Notreallyhappy · 02/10/2017 13:21

Ninian care & repair with spf

Synecdoche · 02/10/2017 13:26

The Body Shop's hemp or shea butter lip balm are great

nutnerk · 02/10/2017 13:27

Try drinking more water!!!!!!!!

LazySusan11 · 02/10/2017 17:31

I drink plenty of water and no fizzy drinks, found a tube of the french pharmacy Homeoplasmine, my lips feel much much better already.

CruzRamirez · 02/10/2017 17:36

Nuxe definitely

3EyedRaven · 02/10/2017 17:38

Vaseline dries my lips out terribly.
I always use pawpaw ointment, you can get it in boots for about £5/6

EnidButton · 02/10/2017 17:57

Vaseline locks in existing moisture rather than adding any. It's a good barrier and protector. Will give temporary relief to dry and chapped lips/skin but can't solve the problem.

My holy grail product is Lansinoh nipple balm. It's just 100% lanolin. I used to get terribly chapped lips every winter and had those splits in the corners of my mouth a couple of times (gorgeous). I apply lansinoh every night now and have never had any problems again. Not even slightly dry lips. Definitely worth trying.

It's in the baby section of boots, near the baby powder or the breast pads etc.

Unicorn81 · 02/10/2017 20:57

Was it carmex original you tried, thats the only carmex ones that makes a difference for me

MikeUniformMike · 02/10/2017 21:05

Watch the ingredients. Salicylic acid will dry out your lips. The more you apply, the worse it will get
I get on ok with chapstick
