Opinions on eyebrow shape for wedding

eyebrowseyebrows · 15/09/2017 16:12

So I've just had a make up trial for my wedding...

The shape that my make up person made my eyebrows is really quite different to how I normally have them.

She's happy to do whatever I want but obviously feels her way suits me better which has now made me wonder if she's right and I've had the wrong eyebrows all this time Shock

In this pic I've kept one eyebrow as per the make up stylist and one how I would normally wear it...

Opinions on whether the one on the left of the photo or right of the photo is better?

As an aside...seeing how lopsided my face looks with different eyebrows makes you realise how important they are!

It's not great makeup is it? The left eye is completely unblended! Definitely look for someone else or do it yourself.

ophiotaurus · 15/09/2017 16:45

Sorry but if you did the one on the left you need a new MUA. The left is way better.

NoArmaniNoPunani · 15/09/2017 16:45

The one you did yourself is much better

Emboo19 · 15/09/2017 16:46

Definitely left!! Far more natural the right is hideous.

I really wouldn't trust a make up artist who did the right to do my make up at all Op.

Freezingwinter · 15/09/2017 16:46

As you look at the photo, the left is thicker and more shaped and the right is thinner.

Which did you do?

Emboo19 · 15/09/2017 16:48

Sorry, just re read so that's the actual full make up, except one eyebrow?? I wouldn't pay for that.

SmokingGun · 15/09/2017 16:53

Are you sure you have things the right way round OP? PP are saying the left eye in your pic (so your right eye) is the better one. I don't understand how a MUA or anyone could make the other brow look so different unless they have plucked a lot of it away?

eyebrowseyebrows · 15/09/2017 17:05

@SmokingGun

The eyebrow I did was the one that is closest to the left hand side of whatever screen you're looking at. It's the thicker one.

The thin one was the MUA

I basically have shit, sparse eyebrows so they have to be mainly drawn on. She didn't do as much filling in as I do with eyebrow pencil

@Emboo19

Yep...and I just showed DP and he agrees that I do a better job.

I wouldn't be booking her.

minimalist99 · 15/09/2017 17:13

Left looks classic and beautiful

Emboo19 · 15/09/2017 17:22

The left looks lovely, especially seen as you don't have much natural brows to start off. I'd definitely say if you can do that, you could do a better job of your full make up.

For my mums we went to mac (my mum, me and other two bridesmaids) and they did make up lessons, but let us film it. So the actually wedding we did our own following the video, meant we could tweak bits to personal preference and we'd had a fun day out before hand. Whatever the lessons cost you can spend on make up, so we got new make up too.

SmokingGun · 15/09/2017 17:24

In which case, do it yourself! I'm actually really shocked that a trained MUA did the other brow tbh, looks like it's just your natural brow but filled in a bit iyswim!

If you have a little way to go before your wedding have you considered micro blading?

eyebrowseyebrows · 15/09/2017 17:32

@SmokingGun

I wanted microblading but we've just decided to buy a house so between that and the wedding we're a bit too tight on cash at the moment Sad

SmokingGun · 15/09/2017 17:37

@eyebrowseyebrows - that's fair enough, house is a wee bit more important than brows Grin

If you are in a position to in the future I would 100% recommend it

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 15/09/2017 17:41

Another one for left

Through im sure youve decided now Grin

GeorgeTheHamster · 15/09/2017 17:43

Ha! That's funny. I was sure the make up artist had done the one on the left which yes, is the better one.

user1499786242 · 15/09/2017 17:44

When I first saw the picture I obviously thought the left side was done by the professional makeup artist...

Jesus, I deffo wouldn't get her to do your makeup!!!

BeBeatrix · 15/09/2017 17:44

The one on the left is a better shape, and I think it would be even better if it were slightly less thick, and a bit lighter in colour.

I have to admit, both are much better than I think I could manage on myself, and either (although not the mixture Grin ) would be a beautiful look for your big day. I just wonder if the left - beautiful shape though it is - might look a little heavy in ten or twenty years time when eyebrow fashions change again!

HistoriaTrixie · 15/09/2017 17:45

The left (as we're viewing it, the OP's right) is beautiful! Maybe kind of round off the corners of the inner aspect, but the arch is just perfect and so is the thickness!

metalmum15 · 15/09/2017 17:52

The one the MUA did is all wobbly and uneven! Not sure what her credentials are but are you sure they're genuine? ! Perhaps you should be doing her job 😉

Bonez · 15/09/2017 17:52

My gosh! The one the MUA did looks awful (for lack of a better word). Yours on the left looks 110% better.

I know, I was surprised as she's recommended by the venue and I know has tonnes of bookings around the Home Counties.

I was also a bit Hmmwhen she put my foundation on after she did my eyes(?)
