I have just had a good sort out and thrown away anything which is manky. Still have nearly 80 bottles not including top or base coat Confused

And yet I only have three pairs of shoes!

80????? Umm..i think I have 3. A ciate red, shiseido violets, & some chanel stuff 15 years old?!

I was looking longingly at some of the nailberry colours! (Can't spend until lump sum comes through)

Ollivander84 · 15/09/2017 14:05

Er. 100? Maybe more

dirtyprettything · 15/09/2017 14:06

I probably have about 20, I chuck them out every year and replace!

iloveredwine · 15/09/2017 14:07

I've got about 50 gel ones

TakeMe2Insanity · 15/09/2017 14:08

I threw away all my bottles of nail varnish. I mean all. Then over the space of year I've bought 3! An under coat and gel coat. Its quite liberating. I should try that with my clothes but I am totally unwilling.

LuxuryWoman2017 · 15/09/2017 14:09

I havery about 10. Just bought a new one today in jade green.

farfarawayfromhome · 15/09/2017 14:09

About 4. I always get my nails done and these are just for touch ups in between.

BulletFox · 15/09/2017 14:10

Ooh jade green sound nice

minipie · 15/09/2017 14:10

About 6-8 but they are all old and most are unusable. Need to have a clear out especially as I've resolved to stick to gels from now on.

ToothTrauma · 15/09/2017 14:11

Quite a spectrum then.

My downfall is YouTube and Instagram. They give me the twitch.

I do paint my own nails every 5 days or so, which means I am using them, but probably not all. I need a way of determining which ones get left unused so I can give them away before they go off!

20-30 gel polishes and about 15 normal polish (that i don't use any more)
I tend to re do my gels once a week as i get bored and like a change

peppykoala · 15/09/2017 14:13

Umm 91... - but there are some top/base coats in there and I do need a sort out, so probably the same as you after that. I'm sure that's a totally normal amount and in no way indicative of any type of lifelong addiction.

IHaveBrilloHair · 15/09/2017 14:14

About 50?
I love nail polish and even when my body went to shit because of medication, my nails stayed long and lovely.

wonkylegs · 15/09/2017 14:16

3 - red, pale gold, pale pink

but I rarely paint nails

Spam88 · 15/09/2017 14:17

Oh hundreds! But I did used to have a nail blog 😬

What about putting them somewhere else once you've used them so you can see which ones you haven't used after a few months or something?

ToothTrauma · 15/09/2017 14:27

Ooh that's a good idea Spam. Why did you stop blogging?

Brillo - exactly. I quite often have issues physically but my nails looking nice always makes me feel good.

None.

TheLegendOfBeans · 15/09/2017 14:29

Massively cut mine down a few months ago....

...to 50.

FilledSoda · 15/09/2017 14:30

I keep buying new reds because I like how they apply when they are new , so wasteful I know but can anyone actually finish a bottle ?
I have about 30/40 because I threw about 50 out a few months ago

ToothTrauma · 15/09/2017 14:33

Filled I've had some luck with using Seche Restore to thin out older polishes. I very rarely finish a bottle though, it's true.

OP posts:
Anatidae · 15/09/2017 14:36

None.

I dont do well with dnail varnish. You paint it on and three days later it's grown halfway off. Pointless. I know it looks nice but don't you need to get your nails done twice a week to keep it looking ok? Must cost a fortune

ToothTrauma · 15/09/2017 14:37

I paint my own at home and my nails must grow much slower than yours Grin

OP posts:
chipscheeseandcurrysauce · 15/09/2017 14:38

About 100

Spam88 · 15/09/2017 14:41

Don't know really, just ended up not doing it for a while and now it's been about 2 years. And I have a baby now so I'm lucky if I get time to shower let alone paint my nails 😂

Filled I agree that Seche Restore is good for thinning down old polish. Bit pricey but you only need a few drops so the bottle lasts ages. And I believe I've, rather impressively, finished two bottles of polish! A white that I used as a base for a lot of nail art and a red that was the only polish I wore on my toes for more years than I'd like to count 😬

IHaveBrilloHair · 15/09/2017 15:18

I never thin them out, or finish a bottle.
I get maybe three uses, four at a push but I have long nails, thinning them changes the texture and they just go shit, I'd rather buy a new one.
I've binned one today as there's just not enough left for another use on my nails, I wish they had longer brushes to reach the bottom.
