Quirky dressers - anyone fancy an autumn thread?

Just that really - I loved the 'I don't want to look expensive' thread (and am going to go back through it for more inspiration) and would be great to know what fabulous things you wear in autumn or are thinking of buying.

I feel like I want to get back into wearing skirts/dresses - I have some office work days in winter so it's more realistic than in summer time & I hate wearing jeans so skirts/tights/boots is a good option for me. I've invested in some new bright / patterned tights, have a couple of skirts I love, but need to figure out the top half now.

From the style blog threads I'd love to dress like the Fake Fabulous blogger though I'm not sure being 5' 1" & small built quite works for that look.

I have the tan ones but the red is dark. Have you looked at Oxygen shoes? They often do stuff in bright red and it is wide fitting too.

Found another great blog for ideas...

Now I need to teach myself how to use a sewing machine.

I think this coat is beautiful.

Love the Red or Dead shoes Squashit

I also really like the Jules style here
I have wide feet and reviews seem to indicate that they are quite wide.
Wouldn't want to go up a size for width though as I'm really a 4.5 but usually wear a 5. Anything bigger would be too long.
Has anyone tried the Jules?
Thanks

Very pleased so far with my ebay results - currently sitting here feeling very cosy & warm in new stripey jumper & skunkfunk skirt - plus what I think must be the most comfortable tights in the universe (even if they were the most expensive bit of the entire outfit).

flo I would love to go shopping with you. I love the sound of your style.

I've bought some quirky dms. But want some beautiful sort of wool vaguely patterned or finely striped socks in autumnal colours to wear with them...

Squashit · 18/09/2017 21:55

These any good? Solmate socks

Love that red coat and her gloves Squash, where's it from?

Squashit · 19/09/2017 10:25

Hi Russell It is previous season Gudrun Sjoden -but they often turn up on EBay.

Squashit · 19/09/2017 10:26

Sadik LOVE that skirt 🙂

RussellTheLoveMuscle · 19/09/2017 11:04

Thanks Squash, it's beautiful.
I'm thinking of Pimping My Tweed, sort of like these. Maybe just one pocket or a sleeve cuff. Anyone else into this kinda thing?

I love the style of all of you! Serious shoe and sock envy here Envy

I have a limited budget so finding affordable quirk is difficult (am disabled so can't get to charity shops as much as I'd like). I love colour, patchwork, embroidery and boho hippy stuff. I'm also a fun of 'ugly' jumpers when I can find them - I have a corker to wear in Autumn/Halloween with appliqué scarecrow and pumpkins. Grin

I watched a documentary that featured traditional Peruvian women last night and found myself coveting their beautiful red embroidered skirts!

Squashit · 19/09/2017 14:12

Lemonade - Gringo have an online site now and often have sales so you can pick up some kooky stuff really reasonable. LOVE the sound of your jumper BTW 👍🏻🎃

Squashit · 19/09/2017 14:14

Russell - love that embroidery- I often adorn my stuff myself 🙂

Squashit · 19/09/2017 14:16

Ps I always think the addition of an owl is most welcome 🦉

Squashit · 19/09/2017 14:36

This sort of thing Lemonade...

You can never go wrong with an owl!
Loving this thread. Anybody got pinterest boards they'd care to share?

Squashit · 19/09/2017 15:00

I think I might need this little gem 😁

Ooh I'm glad I found this thread. I couldn't look polished if you buffed me with wax!
I'm hoping for a kind of edgy 'not quite goth' look this winter, making the most of my favourite colours (black and grey!).

These are my current favoutire shoes, which I bought in many colours (including black and grey). Perfect mid weather shoes to sit between my plimsolls and whatever new winter boots I'll be buying (maybe BlowFish). Have enjoyed exploring the links and suggestions on here, and will be asking for some of those lovely socks for Christmas!

Squashit · 19/09/2017 15:47

I love those shoes - especially the red ones. Bargain too!

slug · 19/09/2017 16:06

I'm currently considering buying this beauty Possibly in the London print

RussellTheLoveMuscle · 19/09/2017 17:11

RussellTheLoveMuscle · 19/09/2017 17:13
