Have you ever bought jeans from places like Matalan, Tu, etc?

I'm on the hunt for some new black jeans but on a super strict budget as on maternity leave and need some new clothes.

Has anyone ever had jeans from somewhere like Matalan, Tu, F+F, George, etc? If they were awful, any recommendations for inexpensive but decent black skinny jeans?

Random but I tried on a pair in f+f today and I was impressed at the quality. Have tons of skinnies so went for bootcut, and if they're shite and don't last at £16 I won't really care.

All my jeans and jeggings (and pretty much all clothes) are Tu.

Primark do canny jeans too.

I tried some on in Sainsbury's about two weeks ago. They were an amazing fit and lovely quality, but sadly were too short in the leg for me (36in inside leg) . I was sad as I would have snapped them up otherwise.

I got some last week for £12 in an M&S outlet shop.

Merida83 · 05/09/2017 17:29

I have multiple jeans and jeggings from TU. Highly recommend them!

PurpleDaisies · 05/09/2017 17:30

Tu clothes (including jeans) are great.

EssentialHummus · 05/09/2017 17:33

Have had great jeans from Primark. Also worth trying gap - sign up to their mailing list and you'll get 40% off soon enough, no need to pay full price.

Love my tu jeans especially my black high waisted skinnies. My other pairs from there haven't lasted that long but I do wear them a lot and for £12 a pair you can't go wrong. I'd also recommend the m&s 5 pocket jeggings. About £25 but a really nice fit for holding it all in and nice quality denim.

SheGotOffThePlane · 05/09/2017 17:35

Oh I also bought a pair of ripped skinnies from Matalan last week and they were proper, thick denim and fit fabulously. Also under 20 quid.

BackforGood · 05/09/2017 18:02

One of my favourite pairs that I've had or years was Tu.
Best ones at the moment are from Pep&Co. £7. They call them jeggins but I reckon they are skinny jean. Really, really comfy - I've been back to get another pair.

choccyp1g · 05/09/2017 18:07

I love the shape of Tu Jeggings, but the black ones fade quite quickly.
Also got some black jeggings from Matalan, which are similar, but so far seem to hold their colour better.

I think all clothes depend on your shape, size etc., you have to try them on, especially trousers.

GlitterFart · 05/09/2017 18:10

Yesterday I bought some contour jeans from F&F in black (£22), so far so good. They seem to hold their shape well and are a nice dark black but will see how that lasts. I would compare them to topshop Joni jeans in terms of fit and shape.

Another vote for Tu

UntilTheCowsComeHome · 05/09/2017 18:18

I love Tesco jeans.

crazypenguinlady · 05/09/2017 18:33

Thanks so much everyone! Looks like I'll be heading to the shops at the weekend to treat myself Grin

I bought a pair of skinny jeans from Asda. I've had it for eight months no problems. Not amazing but pretty much the same aasonethibg four times the price.

Robinkitty · 05/09/2017 18:42

Recommend Sainsbury's their jeggins are great

MurielsBottom · 05/09/2017 18:46

I find most supermarket jeans wear as well more expensive brands. They all seem to get holes between the legs where my fat thighs rub together so I don't see the point in spending more money than necessary.
The only drawback is if you are a little taller it can be a struggle to get the length you need.

Boredomismyenemy · 05/09/2017 18:51

I have several pairs of f&f jeans, they last well and they are comfy. They never loose their shape or fall down. I buy the ones with the Lycra label on which are more expensive but absolutely worth it!

MrsDoylesTeabags · 05/09/2017 18:54

I was recommended the George wonder fit skinnies on here and they're very good. Comfortable fit with lots of stretch and wash really well. I think they were £20

Vagndidit · 05/09/2017 18:54

I pretty much live in Sainsbury TU jeans and jeggings. I love them! I try and hoard a few pairs when Sainsbury has their 25% off sales.

GodIsDead · 05/09/2017 19:00

I got some at Primark for £8 a month ago and I love them.

GuinefortGrey · 05/09/2017 19:02

I have a favourite style of TU skinny jeans which I return time and again to buy. Great quality, don't go baggy and cut slightly higher round the waist which is comfortable and flattering on me. However, I impulse bought a pair of "Yasmine" high waist skinnies in New Look the other day and they are great too. I love the high waist for avoiding mutton top. Been back and bought a second pair today so my beloved TU's now have a rival to my affections!

GuinefortGrey · 05/09/2017 19:02

Ha! Muffin not mutton although the latter is probably quite appropriate

crazypenguinlady · 05/09/2017 19:13

GuinefortGrey any chance you could give a link to the jeans from Tu, please?
