Have you ever bought jeans from places like Matalan, Tu, etc?

I'm on the hunt for some new black jeans but on a super strict budget as on maternity leave and need some new clothes.

Has anyone ever had jeans from somewhere like Matalan, Tu, F+F, George, etc? If they were awful, any recommendations for inexpensive but decent black skinny jeans?

All my Jeggings are from TU, favourite are the premium range & I have a couple from matalan which are great too.

Got 2 pairs of skinny jeans from Tesco they fit well & look fashionable, both pale blue one pair with ankle zips, & one pair with white flowery embroidery & frayed hems.

Both under £25 & have had compliments on them.

I live in Primark and F+F jeans. Splashed out on some George Wonder Fit skinny jeans 18 months ago (I've never paid £20 for jeans before but this was well worth it!) and they're still going strong, but their cheaper jeans are just as good IME.

Dorothy Perkins do good jeans in lots of sizes/styles (online is way better though). I get the tall ones as am 5'9'' and they're plenty long (enough even over my fat sausage legs!) At the moment there's some from £11 in sale and £24 is the most for black skinny jeans.

Another recommendation for Tu. I have the normal jeggings & the black high waisted skinnies. Not normally a fan of high waisted but found them really comfortable. They have all worn well & kept their colour.

TU jeans are great. Only pairs I don't have to yank up every hour, and really flattering.

BubbleAnimal · 05/09/2017 21:31

I get the £12 pairs - skinny ones. Some high waisted, some mid rise.

I buy a lot from tu. it fits me really well as the seem to be designed for people with hips, rather than straight up and down

DD bought some fab black stretchy skinny jeans from primark yesterday for £9. Look fab.

I've tried, Asda, matalan, peacocks, Sainsbury's jeggings all as good as each other, all around £12. I wear everything out between my fat thighs so I may as well just get fresh pairs of these every few months - go for it.

Primark and Tesco are not good fit for me

I love my black high waisted skinny jeans from TU - perfect if you have short legs! V flattering but the colour is fading.

Rufus27 · 05/09/2017 22:39

Another vote for Tu.

I live in my asda George wonder fit skinnies. I totally love them. So so comfortable and look good too.

Have you thought of trying TK Maxx? I just bought a pair from a brand called Lab Dip in their "Girl" cut for £19.99 and they fit great. They were originally £75 or thereabouts. I can't find the brand on their website (I was keen to see if they had other colours) but your local shop may have some stock.

I've had them from sainsburies and never again. Great fit but Cheap and nasty and more elasticy than denim and they weren't their 'cheap' jeans either. Couple of months wear and they wore really thin and got holes in them. Never getting them there again

crazypenguinlady · 09/09/2017 14:01

Quick update: went to Sainsburys today to try the jeans but the selection was really poor and none in my size. The ones I wanted were out of stock online in my size, also. So I popped to George and picked up a pair of Wonderfit black skinnier. They seem to fit amazingly well and help to suck things in! They are so comfortable as well. Already planning on getting more next week. Thanks again Smile
