Best black leggings . . . ?

ZiggyForever · 01/09/2017 16:33

Right, it's autumn, I need some black leggings! I want them to wash well (in terms of colour fastness and durability of material), not bag or sag at the knees or bum throughout the day, and ideally would have some magical buttock-lifting properties Grin

No real budget in mind - happy to invest in a couple of pairs of decent ones. Recommendations/ones to avoid, please . . . ?

I would love to know this too. The M&S ones used to be ok and they are high waisted for a little extra support. Recently though the colour seems to fade really fast?

sanasa · 01/09/2017 16:48

No help ... but watching with interest as I would like a pair for myself! Grin

Downyonder · 01/09/2017 16:52

I love these.

Nice and thick and stretchy.

McSleepy · 01/09/2017 16:54

I have 3 favourites - Fat face, mint velvet and Boden. All were around £15. All are great but not perfect but in different ways! Mint Velvet are the thickest and are LOVELY but slightly too big so fall down. I need to buy the next size down to see if they'll stay up... fat face are definitely not as thick but stay up... boden lovely and so soft but go a bit saggy. So no perfect ones but all very good!

mintmagnummm · 01/09/2017 18:04

Topshop! But buy a size down

Fallulah · 01/09/2017 18:04

Sainsburys, the luxury ones not the normal ones. Best of all the (many) ones I've tried.

scrabbler3 · 01/09/2017 18:06

I also came on to say Sainsbury's (but not the cheaper version).

moobeana · 01/09/2017 18:07

After reading many threads on this topic and hearing the wonders of Sainsbury's luxury leggings, I gave in and bought some.

They weren't wrong. They are GREAT! Thick, comfy not see through at all. Far better than my fat face ones (imo).

Sainsbury's luxury leggings all the way!

ZiggyForever · 01/09/2017 18:09

Sainsbury's it is!

Thanks ladies.

I do like the look of those Very ones too though . . .

See I bought the fancy Sainsbury's ones after seeing rave reviews here but I find they go really saggy in the knees, and by the end of the day I actually find them saggy through the leg too. I do rate the material for comfort though.

britespark1 · 01/09/2017 18:19

Agree with Downyonder- the Very leggings are fab.

AnneGrommit · 01/09/2017 18:21

New look. Seriously.

softshells · 01/09/2017 18:23

I agree with Anne. New Look leggings are surprisingly brilliant.

SuburbanRhonda · 01/09/2017 18:24

M&S high waist ones.

Fit like a glove.

Googlieyes · 01/09/2017 18:25

Miss selfridge. 5% lycra so they never sag or go baggy. I swear by them. They wash great and are long enough for us tallies.

bingohandjob · 01/09/2017 19:10

I've tried M&S, Sainsburys, Tesco, Next and it's Boden all the way for me. Wash brilliantly, don't sag, properly black, super soft. Had 2 pairs of each in navy, grey and black for 4+ years and they're like new still and I've worn them to death!

troodiedoo · 01/09/2017 19:13

Another vote for new look here. I size down. Intrigued by sainsburys, will have to check those out!

HappylandToysEverywhere · 01/09/2017 19:39

Primark! Believe it or not. I know I'll be snubbed but for £2 they are bloody brilliant! They even do thermal ones with a lovely warm lining

NetflixandBill · 01/09/2017 19:46

Primark are ace but i wouldnt say theyre supportive. V comfy and mine haven't daded though. Sainsburys are more supportive

mintmagnummm · 01/09/2017 19:57

Shit I forgot about the sains ones! They are also fab!

VioletCharlotte · 01/09/2017 20:06

Warehouse or Next are the best ones I've found.

DandelionAndBedrock · 01/09/2017 20:07

I got some fab ones from Gap when I had a free gift card in the promotions I never really understand.

SuburbanRhonda · 01/09/2017 21:09

The Primark thicker ones might be ok but their regular ones are almost seethrough.

Escapepeas · 01/09/2017 21:17

Only the ruched ones from Mint Velvet are any good. The other ones go baggy after one wear and keep slipping down.

cupofteaplease · 01/09/2017 21:24

I bought some fantastic thermal leggings from Costco- they are perfect. I went back to buy a second pair, and they had been discontinued Sad perhaps I'll try Sainsburys!
