Dresses for slim women with big boobs?

AngeloMysterioso · 31/08/2017 19:04

Does anyone know if they exist? I keep seeing some lovely styles with little nipped in waists, but whenever I try them the waistline ends up somewhere round my ribs because my boobs have pulled it up. So I have to go a size or two bigger and then it's baggy and out of shape everywhere else. I even tried shopping in the tall section even though I'm only 5'6".

Help!

Try Pepperberry/ Bravissimo, also St. Bustier (but watch out for St. Bustier's tight return times).

Dresses for slim women with big boobs?...
won't fit me. Sad

chloechloe · 31/08/2017 19:18

How big are we talking!? I'm a 10 with a 34DD/E cup and wear dresses all the time but maybe that's not so big!?

Rollerbird · 31/08/2017 19:21

Im a 10, 5 foot 5, 32ff
I find a shirt dress good style for me.

MigGril · 31/08/2017 19:21

I was going to say Bravisimo, why don't they fit?

MigGril · 31/08/2017 19:25

In the past I used to find Monsoon a good fit. But as I've not ad a dress from there from a while thanks to Bravisimo. I wouldn't know if they are still as good.

IfYouGoDownToTheWoodsToday · 31/08/2017 19:25

I have similar issuesHmm

I actually have quite a few dresses from Boden. It's quite hit and miss, but the ones I have, fit beautifully. I'm a 10, and 32FF and 5ft 2.

IfYouGoDownToTheWoodsToday · 31/08/2017 19:27

Oh I got a lovely one from monsoon this summer. A beautiful, orange linen one. Again though I had to try loads on to get one that fitted around the boobs.

Elvisrocks · 31/08/2017 19:32

Oasis dresses always seem to work with my similar shape though I am shorter than you.

DeltaG · 31/08/2017 21:00

I'm 5'3, size 8/10 and a 32E. I find fitted waist styles difficult too and often go for skater and smock styles - ASOS have lots and they aren't too pricey.

AngeloMysterioso · 31/08/2017 21:21

I have the same problem with skater styles too. I like dresses that have a shape, but they seem to assume that anyone with a small waist must be equally small everywhere else!

I didn't know bravissimo did dresses, so will definitely look there!

I tend to go for wrap style dresses, or basically anything that comes with a belt that you can tie in at the waist. That way you can size up so your boobs fit in, but still have it fitted to your waist.

BusterGonad · 31/08/2017 21:29

I've got big boobs, 34F Or FF and I'm not overly slim, size 14 but 5'9. I tend to wear skater dresses or fit and flare but sometimes I need a size 16 plus to fit my boobs and the fit is totally ruined elsewhere. I tend to go for dresses with stretch and never wear cotton dresses.

AngeloMysterioso · 31/08/2017 21:39

The other issue is a lot of the styles I've seen that work are quite mature (for lack of a better word) I'm only in my 20's...

I tend to keep an eye on Nigella's style. While I don't have her budget, she's very good at dressing herself, so keep my eyes open for the kind of thing she wears.

BluebellGal · 31/08/2017 23:04

Pepperberry and Oasis are both good for accommodating ample sized bosoms

Scribblegirl · 31/08/2017 23:07

I'm a size 10 waist, 12 on the hips and 34E on the boobs. They're perilously expensive for me at 28 but I tend to wear Hobbs at work and Joy on the weekend.

I wear dresses exclusively because I look like an elf in trousers and tops Grin

PurpleDaisies · 31/08/2017 23:09

Some phase eight styles are really nice (I wear jersey dresses for work a lot).

BusterGonad · 31/08/2017 23:11

I too wear oasis but sometimes the boob area is too small for me!

allinclusive · 31/08/2017 23:12

I like cowl neck dresses. Closet London on asos have some nice ones.

herecomesthsun · 01/09/2017 02:43

I suspect someone who is size 10 on the waist might possibly have a smaller underboob measurement than 34 and might benefit from a larger cup size (Bra Intervention alert!)

Exactly. I'm a size 10 and am a 30FF which fits with my 29" waist.

Scribblegirl · 01/09/2017 08:14

Ha, sun, I've been meaning to do the bra intervention! Will mosey over to the thread...

IfYouGoDownToTheWoodsToday · 01/09/2017 08:23

I'm a ten waist (29") and whilst a 30" under the boobs, every single 30" bra I try on, I cannot get it to fasten, without causing extreme painGrin so I have to wear a 32"

Fozzleyplum · 10/09/2017 11:34

I've read that Nigella buys dresses from Bombshell. They look as though you need to be curvy to fit them properly.
