The most luxury item you own?

I love seeing people's jewels bags and other luxury items. I have a mental wish list!

What's your most lux item and can I see a pic? Grin

I'm coveting a Birkin never going to happen

Disclaimer: I realise that there are many people who find spending money on these sorts of items 'vulgar' so feel free to step away from this thread.

Granny's 2ct square cut diamond with graduated diamonds down the shoulders. It has been valued. It stays in the safe except for the occasional black tie do. It is virtually unwearable but has a unique value that would be lost if it were broken up to make new pieces. Dreadful first world problem.

In a different vein, some of the pictures I bought with bonuses more than 25 years ago. Haven't bought any since because DH and I have different tastes but clearly I had a good eye.

Not posting pics. Too outing.

Art work on my wall.

Grasp All I know is I bought a chanel black lambskin classic flap (medium) in Jan 2000 for equivalent of 650 GBP and had it been kept unused in its box would retail now at 3990 GBP. In actual, current used but looked after, condition it has flog value of just over 2000 GBP. Nuts. And so nuts that I would never buy another because the price hikes were/are really to increase desirability as a status item and not because the product has improved since I purchased....in fact quality of hardware has gone down (I recently did full renovation of a second Chanel (box bag) I bought around the same time and worn to death inc getting the interlocking Cs replated...techniques are totally different depending on the model year because newer models so fragile).

I absolutely don't see prices can continue to increase at same pace. I do love them though, very easy to wear and never date.

Ditto Chanel jackets and brooches and shoes BlushGrin

Does a gaming headset that cost £250 count? In my defence its wireless which i needed and theyre badically the best brand there is.

Floisme · 26/08/2017 18:07

A couple of original 1920s beaded 'flapper dresses.'

SciFiFan2015 · 26/08/2017 18:09

A pair of bont quadstars. I've upgraded the wheels and the toe stop and they have custom snouts too. They are just gorgeous and all in probably £320 worth of skate brand new.

Balenciaga City, Cartier Tank Anglaise.

Just bought the bag, navy with silver metalwork. I wear the Cartier almost every day.

I have a few grands worth of diamonds in my engagement ring, solitaire necklace and studs too. All worn every day.

Deciding between a fabulous trip to NYC and an eternity ring for my upcoming anniversary...

KanielOutis · 26/08/2017 18:17

A Tiffany love lock bracelet. It was $500 in New York last year. I wear it every day, so cost per wear is not much at all.

herethereandeverywhere · 26/08/2017 18:19

Oh I'd forgotten about art. I have a few pieces from the 'Affordable Art Fair' £2.5k-£4.5k. No idea if they hold their value, not bothered as I love them.

Mellington · 26/08/2017 18:19

A steel and gold Rolex DH bought me, he went to buy an engagement ring and panicked and ended buying me a watch and proposing 6 months later!

Also my engagement ring and a custom made wedding band that goes perfectly with both.

raspberrysuicide · 26/08/2017 18:24

My beautiful pink Ted Baker purse

Mellington · 26/08/2017 18:26

Oh and a pair of Ariat Grasmere Pro GTX boots for horse riding, they last forever and are so comfortable.

raspberrysuicide · 26/08/2017 18:26

My wheelchair that cost £1700 and that's just a manual one not a power chair!

FlindersKeepers · 26/08/2017 18:32

A Roger Vivier clutch bag that is beautiful, but only a bag freak would spot, black leather with gold frame. I got a lucky price on it, so I have bags that cost more that are worth less.
An inherited pearl ring, which is the only thing I'll ever inherit. The band is coral shaped.
A crazy amount of DvF dresses, because I collect them. 70s is my thing.
Covet the Cartier Tank Française, it will be mine. Oh Yes Haha.

Doje · 26/08/2017 18:35

I worked for Burberry for a while so got a few things on uniform allowance. A handbag and a Prorsum skirt are the most expensive bits. Both of which I hardly use! The skirt never seems to be the right time, and the handbag is so cavernous it's impractical!

Niminy · 26/08/2017 18:40

A very small bottle - only 5ml - of 1930s perfume: L'Heure Bleue by Guerlain. I hardly ever wear it (though sometimes I open the bottle and have a sniff) but it is the most gorgeous smell, deep and velvety. You can't get perfume like that any more because most of the ingredients would be illegal.

Bohemond · 26/08/2017 18:40

Not really S&B but a red Range Rover Evoque with 'truffle and cream' upholstery. Far too luxe for carting a toddler around but somehow I manage Grin

espoleta · 26/08/2017 18:41

I own quite a few diamonds but they live in a safe as they aren't really my style and I think they honestly look over the top and too in your face.

My luxury item of choice is my vintage campervan. I live in central London and don't need a vehicle and we're slowly doing him up. He's almost done we just need to take him down to steel and respray him and he'll be perfect (we're saving for that as it costs a fortune!)

Squ1ggle · 26/08/2017 18:41

I have a mulberry handbag which was a 30th birthday present from DH. Admittedly it isn't one of the more 'trendy' ones and at £250 it was the cheapest one in the Cheshire oaks outlet shop but it was the one I fell for and I love it, have used it every day since and still not sick of it. I'm not likely to ever be able to treat myself to anything else as 'posh' so I treasure it

amnesty124 · 26/08/2017 18:44

my chloe bag. adore it

herethereandeverywhere · 26/08/2017 18:45

Just realised my Cartier Tank is a Francaise not Anglaise [oops] (small square face) I also swapped the steel strap for a leather one, dark navy. I love it. I also have the steel strap when I want to change it back.

WhooooAmI24601 · 26/08/2017 18:55

I have a Chanel Boy bag in burgundy velvet that's in perfect condition. He only comes out to play on special occasions because he's the most lovely thing I own.

The things I use most that are 'luxury' are probably my LV shawls. I have a silver and a cream and use them most of the year round. They're just perfect for every outfit.

I also collect Karl Lagerfeld minaudieres. I use them regularly, though, as they're not high-end enough to cry over if they ever got damaged.

DH bought me a Cartier Tank on our first anniversary but I rarely wear it; I teach so use an apple watch for school as it's so sturdy and I'm usually covered in paint and glue by the end of the day.

StarkintheSouth · 26/08/2017 18:56

Aside from my engagement ring my Mulberry Alexa! I bought it as a reward for losing a ton of weight. It's beautiful!

hellokittymania · 26/08/2017 18:56

I don't wear jewelry, and all of my bags are pink or purple sparkly things, but since I am a small size and I can never find a suit, I had a suit tailor made in Vietnam. I am very very careful with it and have had it for five years.
