Bourjois 1 Seconde Volume - OMG!!!!! THE BEST!

OP posts:
DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 25/08/2017 17:54

You've can't win here some days Hmm

I posted a really detailed review on a TBS product and got accused or working for them and promoting their stuff!

rightknockered · 25/08/2017 18:20

Chanel Inimitable for me.

Timefortea99 · 25/08/2017 18:22

Is the Bourjois one a tubing one?

flumpybear · 25/08/2017 18:22

Thanks - will give it a go 😎

SandysMam · 25/08/2017 18:25

Has anyone tried the new Paradise by L'Oréal? I like the look of it but always do and then get disappointed!
Thanks for the recommendation OP, ignore the cranks, some people will pick a fight in an empty room.

TheDowagerCuntess · 25/08/2017 18:26

There is no such thing as the holy grail of mascara, as everyone's holy grail is different. That's why there are so bloody many.

Chanel Inimitable was mine, but then I just realised that it's the brush type that makes the difference for me, so I've found other mascaras with similar brushes that work as well.

LorLorr2 · 25/08/2017 18:28

Thanks for the recommendation! I always hear good things about Maybelline's mascaras but hadn't heard of that one.

sushiwushi · 25/08/2017 18:30

I love recommendations on here- like Bourjois are struggling so much they need one of their team to post on numsnet ... Hmm

sushiwushi · 25/08/2017 18:31

Mumsnet!!!

oldlaundbooth · 25/08/2017 18:32

What's with the nasty attitude towards the OP on here? Confused

That's what we do, recommend stuff! It's mascara!

If you don't like it sod off back to wherever you came from.

PerspicaciaTick · 25/08/2017 18:33

My holy grail of mascara is No.7 Extreme Length Waterproof Mascara (I have it in the brown and the black). I have sensitive and sometimes watery eyes but work where I am "on show" and need to look smart but not too made up (and sometimes we get a bit emotional too). The No.7 doesn't shift but does come off easily with my Simple eye make-up remover without having to scrub or irritate my eyes.

Its always good to hear other people's ideas - especially when they've found a solution to a problem I have myself.

MaisyMary77 · 25/08/2017 18:33

Will give it a go OP. Thanks :)

lazycrazyhazy · 25/08/2017 19:21

Benefit Roller Lash is my favourite ever. I think it won 'new product of the year' a couple of years ago.

schoolgaterebel · 25/08/2017 19:22

Apparently Bourjois are owned by Chanel, so lots of their products are Chanel without the label.

I'll definitely give it a go, as I need some new mascara.

Aeroflotgirl · 25/08/2017 21:43

Ignore the silly posters op, this is Style and Beauty, are people not allowed to recommend things that they really like, without being accused of PR🤔

JuicyCake · 25/08/2017 21:57

Yes both Chanel & Bourjois made in Neuilly (?) at one stage. I use C lipstick & B eye shadow, as well as other bits from both.
Never tried mascara from either. I use Clinique, the one that comes with Bonus Time. I like the small tube, so it doesn't dry out too quickly.
I'd try the B, but the C sounds lovely too. Only worry is that I've dropped dollar on posh mascara before, only for it to dry out. Benefit Bad Gal & YSL Fake Lash were the worst for this...

Beadieeye · 25/08/2017 22:01

Oooh I will give this a try. My favourite so far is a Clarins one I rebought after receiving a mini tube of it in a gift bag of theirs.
I bought a Charlotte Tilbury one after seeing Wayne Goss absolutely raving about it and it's rubbish (on me), then again so is Badgal, rollerlash and the bestselling maybelline one (pink/green tube)....

CaoNiMartacus · 25/08/2017 22:40

I'm always glad of recommendations, OP! Not sure why people have been so harsh. Don't let it put you off posting CakeSmile

Melabela10 · 26/08/2017 08:07

OOT: Just for information bourjoise used to be owned by he same company which owns Chanel but not any longer . In general, there are some financial groups which own multiple Beaty brands but this doesn't mean those brands within he same group are the same and just differently labelled. This is a common misconception. Although I would agree bourjoise is a good brand...

I never buy mascara as I don't use it often and just use the tester sized ones Coming from the gift sets ( buy 3 products get a gift kind of thing popular with Clinique , ester Lauder etc )

Ktown · 26/08/2017 08:21

You are right they have the same address on the side of their tubes, both in neuilly near Paris.
But in a any case most products have the same ingredients- apart from foundation most things are almost identical so if you read up on ingredients you can huge amount of money.
Chanel les beiges powder is talc based like all the others.

Summerof85 · 26/08/2017 08:34

Thanks for the recommendation OP. Mascara is something I use most days but don't like spending too much money as have read should be replaced regularly. My eyelashes are long but point downwards so need to use an eyelash curler. Interested in the moisturiser too that was mentioned!

cottonwool125 · 26/08/2017 10:12

I forgot how much I used to love this mascara until you mentioned it OP! Don't know why I ever stopped using it- the only one I've ever found to be on the same level as is the L'Oréal Superstar mascara. It's double ended though, so you have to apply the primer before the actual black mascara. Same sort of results as the Bourjois but definitely more of a faff! Will be purchasing again next time I'm in boots Grin

Ellapaella · 26/08/2017 13:10

Have bought this this morning on your recommendation and agree it is fab!

Pancakeflipper · 26/08/2017 13:18

I am another who is on the look out for mascara. My 'everyday not noticeable is Clinque Lash Power. It does not smudge.

Recent other purchases for more of the wow factor have been No7 (in a gold tube) and that does not shift but makes unattractive tiddy tubes on removal. And a Body Shop one that has a wow factor - 'wow smudgey face, your mascara is down your cheeks'

So happy to try this out - what price range is it?

Ellapaella · 26/08/2017 14:01

I paid about £7 in Boots for it this morning.
