Bourjois 1 Seconde Volume - OMG!!!!! THE BEST!

Flapflop- rise above it. Seems to be the way things are on MN at the moment and it's ruining it for me. Some people just seem to get off on picking at anything they can, however trivial and derail everything. I like mascara and am appreciative of your recommendation. Thank you- I'll look out for it . I need a new one. Mine seems to be irritating my eyes for some reason.

BastardGoDarkly · 25/08/2017 10:19

Oooooo thanks for the no7 tip, I'm trying to stay cruelty free Smile

youredeadtomesteven · 25/08/2017 10:37

Ignore them Flap.
I've never tried that brand for anything other than the healthy mix foundation (not a fan), the healthy mix powder and a little pot of eyeshadow. Next time I need a mascara, I'll think of you.

Thank you

SuburbanRhonda · 25/08/2017 10:46

@BastardGoDarkly

No 7 isn't cruelty free.

dewberries · 25/08/2017 10:46

I have tried loads of mascaras but keep going back to Max Factor 2000 calorie. The non waterproof one.

Works wonders for me but what's good for one isn't necessarily good for someone else.

If only I could find a foundation that I was happy with.

burnishedsilver · 25/08/2017 10:47

Thanks for the recommendation.

Its not usual in S&B for a thread to take a weirdly nasty turn like that.

Runlovingmummy81 · 25/08/2017 10:48

Will give it a try thank you! I'm going to need to replace mine soon xx

hippadoppaloppagorillapig · 25/08/2017 11:05

I love this mascara too. I use the waterproof version and it's really easy to take off too, unlike other waterproof mascaras I've tried.

BastardGoDarkly · 25/08/2017 11:07

Isn't it Rhonda ?! Shock why the fuck did I think that then?!

BuzzKillington · 25/08/2017 11:21

I have tried Bourgeois mascaras in the past and not liked them. The only ones I like are Lancome.

PS - OP - you do know it's 'exclamation' mark, don't you? Grin

SuburbanRhonda · 25/08/2017 11:27

Boots is one of the worst for animal testing.

There was a great article on the best cruelty free makeup brands in the Guardian magazine a couple of weeks ago. I'll try to
find a link for you Smile.

And I'll ask DD, who is a makeup artist and uses cruelty free wherever she can.

Youcanttaketheskyfromme · 25/08/2017 11:29

Benefit they're real is vile in me. Makes me look like someone glued my eyelashes together.

Clinique for me.

ExConstance · 25/08/2017 11:35

Chanel Volume - I had a tiny free sample with a magazine a while back and could not believe how amazing it was, it makes more difference to the way I look than all the rest of my makeup put together!

ThreeAfter30 · 25/08/2017 11:35

Thanks Flap ive been looking for a new one for ages.shopping trip tomorrow, i will defo be buying this 😊

BananaSandwichesEveryDay · 25/08/2017 13:45

Not tried this one, but I do like Bourjois mascaras. Currently using their Volume Reveal with the built in 3x magnifying mirror. I used to love the one they did with the battery operated rotating brush - that was my all time favourite, sadly now discontinued. My other 'go-to 'is L'Oreal Telescopic.
I hardly ever venture on to s&b because I have so often noticed a sort of snobbery where brands are concerned. The few times I've spent out on more expensive brands, I've not found them significantly any better than what I usually buy.

IrritatedUser1960 · 25/08/2017 13:47

That sounds great OP, I haven't yet found a mascara I like. I'll try it.

IrritatedUser1960 · 25/08/2017 13:49

My daughter in law is a manager in a big cosmetic store that shall remain unamed and sends me big samples of everything. Chanel, all the brands I can't or won't afford, it's great but mascaras are across the board disapointing I find.

Butterfly1975 · 25/08/2017 14:38

Ooh good link to the ethical Sali Hughes list Suburban

Sleek and Collection both cruelty free Smile

I quite like Maybelline Colossal Volume mascara as it stays put but is a bit stingy when I take it off at night. The fact that Maybelline isn't a cruelty free brand is a good reason to try something that is next time.

LexieSinclair · 25/08/2017 14:41

Thanks Flap I'm always looking for a better mascara and I will definitely try this one.
Ignore the miserable bastards.

Deathraystare · 25/08/2017 14:49

Thanks Flaps. I seem to remember using it -I think there wa a waterproof version. I have to use waterproof. I cannot remember if I liked it but I normally like the Bourjois ones.

RedPanda25 · 25/08/2017 15:30

@starkid lash sensational is the one I keep going back to too!

mintbiscuit · 25/08/2017 15:37

Nicely timed flap, I am just about to replace my one.

SugarMiceInTheRain you can't tell us you found a great cheap moisturiser and not tell us what it is... you tease! Pls spill!

Arcadia · 25/08/2017 17:14

Have you tried benefits rollerlash? Is it better than that?

IrritatedUser1960 · 25/08/2017 17:51

I bought some today to try OP and it is really good, I only needed 2 coats to cover my blond eyelashes, normally I need loads and end up with spider eyes. This gave very nice individual lash cover very quickly. Thanks for the recommendation.
