What high-end makeup do you love?

I can't afford anything high-end at the moment but one day i'd love to get a classic Chanel/Dior/Guerlain red lipstick, I just think they look beautiful.

What do you love that's expensive? Or not necessarily expensive but is nice and looks classy. Either as a treat or just your everyday makeup. Please no "I would use that money to pay off my mortgage" comments.

Makeup geek eyeshadows and highlighters. Just amazingly pigmented and blend easily. Cheaper than MAC, and better! They look amazing on

TashieWoo · 19/08/2017 21:14

I love the Hourglass ambient light powders, I did have one but couldn't afford to replace when it ran out so got a Beauty Pie version which is just as good (love Beauty Pie everything really!)

I also covet Chanel nail polishes, haven't bought one in years though!

PollyCazaletWannabe · 19/08/2017 21:15

I like Bobbi Brown lipstick, eyeshadow palette and eyeliner. Good quality and lasts really well.

CheckingMyPrivilege · 19/08/2017 21:16

^what's the beauty pie version called? I love hourglass too - i get so skint about it and use it just on special occasion but I lost two powders this way!

I love Hourglass and Chanel.

PollyPerky · 19/08/2017 21:17

Dior Star foundation.
Dior 5 palette eye colours (only bought once but loved all but 1 shade in the pan.)
Bobbi Brown eye shadow, concealer, blush, lippie.
lancome Hypnose mascara.

Dior Bronzer. Beautiful heavy compact, nice mirror. Comes with own pouch and gorgeous brush. Mines lasted two years so far. Definitely worth it.

Dalesgirl16 · 19/08/2017 21:20

Charlotte Tilbury Khoi pencil is lovely.

AccrualIntentions · 19/08/2017 21:21

Tom Ford lipstick. I have two and I love them both, even though part of me is appalled at myself for spending £38 on a lipstick Blush

TashieWoo · 19/08/2017 21:23

@checking the Beauty Pie one is called Moonlighting Balm and comes in three colours.

Dontlaugh · 19/08/2017 21:24

I've just purchased some Charlotte Tilbury foundation, as it covers up so well. Expensive but hoping it's worth it!

zenasfuck · 19/08/2017 21:27

Lancôme foundation, Chanel pressed powder, ysl loose powder and Chanel or Charlotte tilbury blusher are my basic go to products. Throw in Dior or Lancôme Hypnose mascara and I'm happy

Mumof41987 · 19/08/2017 21:34

Nars mac and Chanel

Babyblues14 · 19/08/2017 21:40

I got a second-hand makeup box from a flea market once. Inside I found a dior eyebrow pencil and lucky for me it was the right shade
Would never buy one myself, I think it was about 30 quid (for a pencil!!!) But you can tell the difference when you use it

MusicToMyEars800 · 19/08/2017 21:43

I love the Chanel lipsticks and eyesahdows
Mac do great make up.
Charlotte Tilbury, I love most of her stuff.
Tom Ford Foundations are so nice.
Dior
I love expensive stuff, sadly can't afford it, so try to save up and treat myself to something nice either make- up or skincare or fragrance.

MusicToMyEars800 · 19/08/2017 21:43

*Eyeshadows even, blooming typos!

NameChanger22 · 19/08/2017 21:46

I love Etude House the most. It's more of a medium range, but I love it more than all the really expensive stuff. The packaging and products are lovely.

Argeles · 19/08/2017 21:48

Chanel lipsticks are fabulous quality - they last for ages. They also smell and taste delicious, and the packaging is beautiful. The clicking sound when closing your lipstick is also very satisfying.

tigerdog · 19/08/2017 21:49

Chantecaille eye shadow. So many beautiful colours, and it stays on and bright all day.

Sisley concealer. Only thing that seems to improve my dark circles.

Armani luminous silk foundation. Perfect foundation although I don't use it at the moment as I can't get a perfect colour match. Have been searching for an alternative for ages without success.

Argeles · 19/08/2017 21:49

Chanel foundation is great too.

user1499786242 · 19/08/2017 21:50

Bought a Chanel blusher in Paris 4/5 years ago and I'm still using it now!
Also have the face powder and mascara
It's my guilty pleasure

AddToBasket · 19/08/2017 21:53

I would love more Tom Ford shadow quads. I have one that a friend gave me and I so, so love it.

whyareusernamessodifficult · 19/08/2017 21:54

I love Besame.
The makeup itself is brilliant but even if it wasn't I would probably still buy it just for the packaging Blush

tabulahrasa · 19/08/2017 21:55

I had a Sisley tinted moisturiser once...it was amazing, but I bought it by accident/out of embarrassment Blush (didn't ask the price, knew it wouldn't be cheap but would never ever have considered it if I'd asked before she rang it up).

Not as high end, but not cheap, urban decay, the primer, eye shadows and setting spray are well worth the price.

TheOneWhoKnocks · 19/08/2017 21:56

Benefit Dandelion - I wear it over my blusher and it just makes me look "well" in a subtle but noticable way. Got lots of compliments when I started using it!

Benefit Boi-ing concealer - amazing coverage and very long-lasting.

Urban Decay blushers - really pigmented so you can apply very lightly, which gives a beautifully natural finish. I like Quickie and Fetish - I'm very pale so need to apply very sparingly indeed, but they're both gorgeous. Again, lots of compliments!

Urban Decay Naked Basics pallette - really easy to achieve a range of flattering looks, going from v subtle and natural to quite striking. I don't normally like pallettes at all, but will definitely replace it when it dies!
