Is my hair orange? Honest opinions please

Had my hair coloured today - I wanted a copper colour but it’s just so fucking bright!

I was blonde so it’s possibly just going to take some getting used to? Or is it just orange and I’m trying to humour myself

It was blonde - like a level 10 blonde. I was assuming they would have used a brown in there somewhere but apparently not 😅

Yes, you would think so. It needs brown to get that Auburn shade.
That is exactly the colour of my son's hair. I'm sure he'd swop! He doesn't like it

What you've got is what I would describe as copper rather than the one with browner tones you posted. I like both what you've got and the one with brown tones.

I think mine is a bit darker than what you want but I love yours (and mine). Did they show you the board/samples before they started? Could they possibly put some darker toner on it to well, tone down the copper?

Have you redone your make up since the new colour? You will probably find that you'll need a new 'look' with that too.

I'm naturally very light ash blonde, but when I've dyed it darker I've had to really go heavier on the eye make up for it to look right.

I think it will fade to almost nothing within a fortnight and you'll be looking back on these photos and longing for your vibrant copper!

I love it! I've just had copper added to my hair today. My hair is naturally dark though so it's not as bright. I love the shine it gives.

My hair used to be naturally proper deep red, now its red-squirrel-red.

I think that looks lovely and actually much nicer than the colour you wanted originally. You said you wanted copper and copper is orange I'm afraid, I have copper in my hair and it's also very vibrant then I have blonde highlights just through the top. You could have some chocolate brown lowlights put in if you wanted it a bit richer.

I love it. i wanted that colour but ended up with bleached highlights, i look far too washed out and pale zombie

If you were feeling very daring you could put a wash in over the top in light brown? I used Superdrug blonde shampoo (like a toner though, not just for blonde hair) when my highlights were far too bright and white blonde. The blonde toner shampoo took the edge off the white and made them more yellow blonde which is what I wanted, without permanently colouring over the top. I don't think you can get that any more but I imagine a brunette shampoo and conditioner would do the same job.

I love it. Red dyes fade faster than most others so I wouldn't rush to change it. There's probably a bit of shock factor at work as it's a big change from blonde. It looks really good so maybe see how you feel in a week or so when you've had time to get used to seeing your new look.
