Crocs!!

Can't believe I'm starting this thread. . .but, we're going to Disneyland Paris soon, last time we went I wore fit flops and while they were initially comfortable, they ripped my feet to shreds.

I'm thinking that maybe crocs sandals might be the way to go, the flip flop style ones, has anyone got them and are they comfortable/suitable for lots of walking?

No no no no no no no Sad Crocs, argh!!

Why not wear some funky trainers or Converse or similar??

M5tothesouthwest · 22/07/2017 16:04

Noooo. I had a pair of Skechers Go Walk for our Disney trip. Amazing.

Myfanwyprice · 22/07/2017 16:08

I think I must be the only person in the world to find converse uncomfortable! I was looking at sketchers, but I'm worried that my feet will get too hot??

Just to clarify, I don't mean crocs clog style, but the more sandal-ly ones!

I love crocs but don't wear them out, they are my slippers.

There's only one thing worse than crocs.... and that's flesh coloured crocs...
Not only hideous and frumpy but make your legs look dumpy... soooo unflattering.

Get some Birkenstocks or Havianas and wear them in before you go.

Myfanwyprice · 22/07/2017 16:10

Link above it what I've been looking at 😊

I've had a pair for years & they're really comfy to walk around in. I assume you mean this sort of style rather than the clogs Grin

I'm just about to order a pair as they've been brilliant but my current black pair have faded to grey. I'll still keep them as they're great for wearing on the beach when you're in & out of water.

I say go for it.

Sorry X post. I like those, I looked at them too but can't stand anything between my toes.

Myfanwyprice · 22/07/2017 16:12

I have got some havianas, I'm taking all the croc hate onboard! Maybe I'll get some sketchers and take the havianas, between them I should be ok

Ooh someone that likes crocs 😃 shiny did they rub when you first got them?

The ones you've posted, my SIL and MIL have the original version of and say they're the comfiest things they've ever put on their feet.

There's nothing wrong with them. Yes original crocs are ugly but there's a lot of variety. These are really simple and will go with everything. The only reason I haven't got any is that my feet are so fugly

MyShinyThing · 22/07/2017 16:16

The one I have are more like this but the original style. The tab bit on the heel rubbed a bit so I cut it off Blush. Apart from that they're the most comfortable thing I've ever worn. I get pain in the arch of my foot when I wear flat shoes but I've walked miles in these & they've been brilliant.

That's good to know ceebs, I don't want to sound like a drama queen, but the fit flops shredding my feet did put a dampener on the holiday last time we went, and I really don't want to make the same mistake again.

OP posts:
MyShinyThing · 22/07/2017 16:20

Also mine are diagonal criss-cross across the toes and are very effective at threading my toe hairs if I forget to remove it Blush. Sort of 2-4-1! Grin

Myfanwyprice · 22/07/2017 16:23

shiny 😂 that's the kind of value I like!!

I like the look of those sandals but would need to wear them a lot beforehand because if any of that rubber was on a pressure point I'd imagine they would be just as bad as your fit flops for creating killer blisters.
(To be fair the comment applies to any sandal worn barefoot - combination of heat, sweaty feet and lots of miles needs a proven pair of sandals not something new...)
If there's no time then I would go with trainers and socks (possibly some spare pairs to change into and feel fresher) and keep cool on rest of my body rather than have uncomfortable feet in a theme park

thefemaleJoshLyman · 22/07/2017 18:36

I have two pairs of crocs sandals and I love them. Really comfy and can be dressed up or down.

BendydickCuminsnatch · 22/07/2017 19:20

Crocs are amaaaaaazing when you're on your feet all day! They're my work shoes, so so comfy. But I change out of them to leave the kitchen, wouldn't be seen dead in public Grin

But. If I wasn't so vain I'd definitely recommend them for Disney!

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 22/07/2017 19:22

Why on Earth is a thread about Crocs in S&B?

Grin
han01uk · 22/07/2017 19:28

Got some go walk Skechers for our Disney trip, amazingly comfortable...I can't think crocs for that much walking would be comfortable tbh. I tried them as a nurse doing 13 hour shifts and god my legs and feet hurt the next day!

han01uk · 22/07/2017 19:29

Or try merrell or earth spirit sandals?!

OlennasWimple · 22/07/2017 19:33

Have a look at Crocs Kaydee, Alice or Sienna style flats.

No, they won't win any S&B awards, but they are super comfy to wear when you are on your feet all day, shouldn't rub at all, and are better than flip flops when the ground is wet

DuncanDonut · 22/07/2017 19:36

I'm seconding the vote for sketchers go walks - they really are the comfiest things I've ever ever worn, to the point that I have about 5 pairs on the go, and struggle to wear anything else.

MsStricty · 22/07/2017 19:37

I wear the Crocs flip flops. Don't give a toss about what other people think - they're comfortable and they don't give me blisters.
