Bardot top for work - yes or no?

I work in a pretty casual office, jeans are the norm. Cold shoulder tops totally acceptable. But what about Bardot tops?

I'm meeting friends for lunch tomorrow and want to wear my new bardot top (plain blue with a small lace trim around the bottom in the same colour). But can I get away with wearing it all day, or should I wear something else to the office and then change for lunch?

I have a couple of Bardot tops which I wear for work. Never had anyone mention it

Sciurus83 · 20/07/2017 15:57

I wouldn't personally

JemimaMuddledUp · 20/07/2017 15:59

this is the top if it makes any difference.

No, dont think so

Tentomidnight · 20/07/2017 16:02

No. Definitely not.
It is a really lovely top though.

KoalaDownUnder · 20/07/2017 16:02

No, not to work.

JemimaMuddledUp · 20/07/2017 16:03

That was my instinct, I just wanted to check opinions in case I was being old fashioned!

I think I will take a different top for work, unless a blazer will fit over it in which case I could wear that and then take the blazer off at lunchtime.

It's lovely.

OP, if you feel comfortable wearing it at a casual dressing work environment, why not?

EverythingEverywhere1234 · 20/07/2017 16:04

LOOKS like I'm very much in the minority 😂 Gorgeous top!

Loopytiles · 20/07/2017 16:06

No.

BlondeGinger · 20/07/2017 16:07

I love that top. I wear jeans etc to work but I wouldn't wear it just because where I sit you can usually only see my head and shoulders above my computer screen and other surrounding objects so to anyone opposite or approaching I might look a bit naked!

NoBetterName · 20/07/2017 16:08

It's not as though you are putting your boobs on display or something. I'd wear that to work with some nice trousers, but then I don't work in an office environment.

SnowiestMountain · 20/07/2017 16:14

Not for work, lovely top though!

Highlove · 20/07/2017 16:15

No, definitely not. Not to work. But then I'm old fashioned.

Highlove · 20/07/2017 16:16

But lovely top. I'm not usually a fan of Barton tops but this one is lovely.

PragmaticWench · 20/07/2017 16:21

It's a lovely top but not for work, and I say that working in a very casual office.

Silvereyes · 20/07/2017 16:35

No, not to work.

burnishedsilver · 20/07/2017 16:44

No, not to work.

PrimalLass · 20/07/2017 16:54

Definitely not for work IMO.

Thudercatsrule · 20/07/2017 20:52

I wear tops like that on a Friday, dress down day!

wellhonestly · 20/07/2017 21:32

Is it elastic? Would it fit "on" the shoulder, kindof like a peasant blouse? In which case I would, but not off-the-shoulder, no.

TealStar · 20/07/2017 21:35

I sometimes wear a tight fitting Baukjen one in black. I wouldn't though if it were too low fitting, i.e. Showed my 'armpit' crease ifkwim... I do think twice about wearing it but as the neckline is fairly high for a Bardot top I think I get away with it. If in doubt I wouldn't though!
