Perfect going out top, in a single colour

I'm going on holiday in 3 week's time and want a top that I can wear out in the evenings.
I'm looking for a lightweight top that is fairly long (but not too long) more mid bum length.
It needs to have short sleeves or sleeveless (but not vesty) and it has to be in a single colour that's bright enough to to go with dark skinny trousers, either black, navy or dark blue/navy jeans.
In a drapey material, that hangs nicely.

Does such a plain, good quality top exist? Confused
Everywhere I look it's all hideous patterns, weird sleeves and embelishments.

I would spend up to £50 on it, but can't go higher.

Phase Eight have the type of top I'm after, but they're slightly too frumpy. Hmm

Bumping I'm afraid because I'd love a top like this. The last good one I got was from Whistles. I saw a great one in H&M a couple of months ago but by the time I had time to go in it had disappeared.

So there's no point looking in H&M? Hmm

I don't want to buy online because I can't be doing with sending it back if it's the wrong size and then having to order it again.

It's definitely worth looking in H&M, especially if you fancy ice pastel colours, but I couldn't find anything that worked for me. Warehouse and Oasis are all about the prints ATM.

Have you tried John Lewis's magic search engine. It is very good for specific necklines, sleeve lengths, colours, prints, fabrics etc and. Of course it then helps you track down stuff from all the brands they stock.

I would have a look in H&M, OP.

I was in there earlier today and they had some really nice tops in. I couldn't really browse for long as my 3 yo DD was in tow, but if I'd had more time there was loads I would have liked to have tried on.

If you're near a store I'd def pop in for a nosey about.

I bought this in two different colours. I've worn them both loads this summer already. They come at bum skimming length and I had to size down as they are very roomy.

I like this. It's what I'm looking for.
But, I wish they had a picture with the model holding her arms up so I can see how 'gapey' it is under the arms.
I don't mind sleeveless as long as it comes up fairly high under the arm and the top pit drapes over a bit.
I know, I'm too fussy Shock

Love the colour, but too long.
Once again, is there 'gape' under arms.
I only do sleeveless if you can't really see under my arms.

I love the Quiz one, but I'm a size 12 and they only have 10's left.
I can sometimes get into a 10, if it comes up big.
