Do you apply foundation with fingers?

Just that really? I do but getting tired of having to wash hands again after having already showered etc. What do others use to apply their foundation? I used to use those triangle sponges but there's probably a better solution I'm sure?

A brush is by far the best way.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 15/07/2017 14:19

A damp beauty blender.

Mummymummyme · 15/07/2017 14:19

I use those beauty blender sponges, fingers are far too messy for me plus it ends up everywhere but my face

Lj8893 · 15/07/2017 14:20

A brush, my current favourite is a stippling brush.

Many thanks, I wonder why boots are not stocking beauty blender? It's sold out on line and have no plans to restock?

I use a flat topped kabuki brush, it's revolutionised the way I use foundation, no more streaks or losing half the foundation in a sponge!

Brush. Fingers add oil to the face, dont distribute product evenly and you use lots more foundation. Smile

Redglitter · 15/07/2017 14:54

Definitely a brush

TheUpsideDown · 15/07/2017 14:56

A brush here too. I've seen others use fingers and have tried it myself, but it never looks even.I can't blend well with fingers. I can't even blend well with beauty blenders!

tobee · 15/07/2017 14:57

Would you use same for cc cream, tinted moisturiser ?

LoadsaBlusher · 15/07/2017 16:48

I use my fingers
Have tried sponges and brushes and feel it doesn't blend plus use loads more product

happypoobum · 15/07/2017 18:10

I use DW and find a sponge is best. I use a tiny amount each time and it blends really well.

Girlywurly · 15/07/2017 21:06

I use fingers, as I can't be bothered to keep washing a brush/sponge. Plus, I prefer the finish I get with fingers.

Occasionally I finish it off with a damp beauty blender.

The downside is that I always seen to have foundation dried under my nails. Really gross actually: need to sort it out!

Tantpoke · 15/07/2017 21:10

I use my fingers because it helps melt the foundation into my skin whereas I find brushes just leave it sitting on top of my skin like it's been painted on and doesn't feel like part of my skin.

MrsChopper · 15/07/2017 21:16

I use brushes or my fingers when i have forgotten to wash the brushes

Doesn't the beauty blender just absorb a lot of your foundation?

userofthiswebsite · 15/07/2017 21:22

Use the beauty blender. It's good and you don't get the streaky look you do with fingers or brushes.

userofthiswebsite · 15/07/2017 21:22

In answer to the previous poster yes it will absorb some but hey-ho.

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 15/07/2017 21:27

Fingers.

Much better finish and easier to wash hands than to faff around washing a foundation brush.

Beauty blender reminds me of a stippling paint finish. Not a fan.

Brazenhussy0 · 15/07/2017 21:29

Fingers. Always.
Glides on smoothly, can get into all the little nooks and crannies around my eyes/nose, blends into my skin better etc.
Brushes always make me look like I’m wearing a caked on mask and I’m too lazy to be arsed with brush maintenance.
Sponges are slightly better but I can’t stand how much foundation they suck up and waste!

PlymouthMaid1 · 15/07/2017 21:40

Fingers. No idea how to do it with a brush or sponge and know they would be riddled with bacteria instantly and I wouldn't wash them everyday.

ASauvingnonADay · 15/07/2017 21:46

I've got a beauty blender but have never used it damp - should I??

MeltorPeltor · 15/07/2017 21:48

A stippling brush and then finish with (clean) fingers, the brush gets it into all fine lines and gives a better finish, the fingers ensure there are no missed bits.

I hated the beauty blender, I felt conned having forked out for that!

alltouchedout · 15/07/2017 21:54

Depends on the foundation. Some need a brush, some a blender, some fingers.

poppy2021 · 15/07/2017 21:59

I use Clinique double wear applied with this sponge www.superdrug.com/B-/B-Precision-Blending-Sponge/p/648708

The same. I read an article by a make-up artist who said that in order to make foundation look really natural and last a whole day, it was necessary to rub it in as much as possible, so it really bonds with your skin. I've been doing that since, and getting better results.
