What colour for summer nails?

I'm booked to have nails and toenails done with shellac which I'm promised should last my 14 day holiday. So what colour should I go for?
My nails are not long but nicely square shaped so I don't want blood red talons. I'm thinking of something neutral like the pic but is it too boring and are there any other suggestions?

I'd go for a coral. Nice and bright but neutral enough for a holiday. Depending on your holiday wardrobe though I suppose!

I had rose gold slitter shellac last year.

Neutral but with lots of bling so not too boring.

My favourite colour for fingers is RUBBLE, it's a cappuccino colour, goes w everything and looks classy!!

I've got these at the moment, pink with a nice glittery middle finger I have my own lamp so they're not as neat as a professional job

Field fox is consistently in the bestseller charts. Paler than that though.

Rubbles lovely with a bit of glitter. Satin pajamas, clay canyon, cocoa if they've got it. All neutrals. Maybe bare chemise or nude knickers? Safety pin?.

Remember to wear vinyl gloves to apply sun lotion, it eats shellac for breakfast.

I love coral for holidays, but on the other hand I often chip my nails (yes, even shellac ones - I think I'm quite hard on my nails) and have found that chips aren't so noticeable with a pale colour. I like Field Fox - it's a pale grey/nude/neutral colour.

I think the colour in the OP would be great for autumn, but would get me down a bit in summer.

I had shellac done for the first time for my holiday and thet started peeling off on day 4! Thought it was just a rubbish application but it might've been the suncream then?!

If your hard on nails artistic gel polish is great. Hideously pricey to buy in for salons but excellent snow.

Yep. I'm CND certified & I applied mine Friday, I know I've prepped correctly & capped off using the five point method. All genuine products bought from the main distributor & the CND lamp,

Chipped two from using sun cream. Toes are fine.

It's why people get their nails done abroad, the sun cream & chlorine destroy it. The trouble is is that there's so much fake shellac around you can't soak it off when they get back because it's gel not shellac.

If you have time nitrile gloves off eBay are the way to go. Much more resistant to chemicals than vinyl.

Bit concerned it might not last the fortnight though especially if I'm slathering cream on the DC as well as myself not to mention DH's back! I also can't see me remembering to put plastic gloves on by the pool!

I like a very shiny coral in summer, your op one is too dark for this time of year I think.

Put your Dh on sun cream duty.

Great thread. I'm trying gel nails this time as Shellac has destroyed mine in the past. Question .. same shade or different for fingers and toes? Getting them done tomorrow and hve no idea what colours to go for.

Or get the sun spray mist that you don't need to run in!

Butterfly queen - going to have it on my toes before I go away next month. Then nude knickers in fingers.

I've had orly and ibd on my nails during lots of holidays and never had a problem with them peeling. I've got some on atm that I had done for my holiday almost 3 weeks ago and are still on as solidly as the day they were applied.
