Which would you wear to a wedding?

It's not for a few weeks but I don't really want to buy anything new. Are one or other of these suitable, do you think? I haven't been to a wedding for years and, according to the bride, most women will wear suits (too much like work for me to consider).

I'd wear number 2 but they're both very pretty.

JasmineDreams · 11/07/2017 08:05

They're both lovely and would both have been perfectly suitable at any of the weddings I've been to in the past few years. Suits sound a bit odd tbh. I love the blue one on you.

Lobsterquadrille2 · 11/07/2017 08:22

Thank you - in that case I definitely won't buy anything and will see how I feel on the day. Smile

I'd wear the second one, but either would be fine.

mumoffour1716154 · 11/07/2017 08:24

You look lovely in both, I like the first one

Lobsterquadrille2 · 11/07/2017 08:27

Thank you. I probably favour the first one but am questioning its length (I'll be 48 very soon). That's a personal thing, I suppose.

The first one with a pair of heels will look lovely. First one is lush

GinIsIn · 11/07/2017 08:30

First one. The second dress is nice but not I'm not sure of the colouring on you.

loobylou10 · 11/07/2017 08:32

First one a bit short I think - the second is lovely.

tissuesosoft · 11/07/2017 08:33

The first one- the colour really suits your hair colour and skin tone

Onedaysoooon · 11/07/2017 08:33

Both lovely. Yes to heels with the first one.

Suits? Where have I been?

Onedaysoooon · 11/07/2017 08:34

I did wear a cream trouser suit to a wedding once but that was over twenty years ago.

MyfatheristheKing · 11/07/2017 08:35

Second one is my favourite

Ineedmorelemonpledge · 11/07/2017 08:44

Second one is my favourite, it looks a bit more tailored and suits your curves.

neveradullmoment99 · 11/07/2017 08:49

Second one. I dont like the print of the first tbh. Both fit you beautifully. The second one looks more for a wedding.

Butterymuffin · 11/07/2017 08:52

Both nice and would work, but second one looks more weddingy to me.

allegretto · 11/07/2017 08:53

They're both fine and I love the first one.

namechange20050 · 11/07/2017 08:54

First one. Colour of the second isn't great on you & you have great legs so the length of the first isn't a problem IMO.

LoniceraJaponica · 11/07/2017 08:57

Second one

that's a hard one, you look great in both! Nothing wrong with suits, but I don't know anyone who would wear one to a wedding, 5 or 6 days a week at work is more than enough for most women.

You are slightly less subtle in the dark one, but not in a bad way at all. I really don't know, but either are perfectly suitable. (I hope I look like this when I am 48, blimey!)

ToElleWithIt · 11/07/2017 09:02

Suits at a wedding? Sounds unusual.

Both of your dresses are absolutely suitable for a wedding IMO. I prefer the patterned one; it's lovely on you and you have the legs for it.

neveradullmoment99 · 11/07/2017 09:03

I agree though. Think the colour of the second colour isnt great. Maybe brighten up around the face with something that suits you and flatters the dress.

Lobsterquadrille2 · 11/07/2017 09:03

They're both from French Connection and both quite old - bought the first for my 40th and the second for my parents' 60th anniversary so eight and five years old respectively.

Argh, I don't know now. Maybe I'll add up opinions and take the MN view. Thanks all.

Both look good but i think the second looks more elegant and wedding like - especially with nice contrasting shoes/bag and perhaps fascinator.
