Frumpy! Avoid.

UrethaFranklin · 05/07/2017 11:34

I like them. Quality I find varies, some items are better than others.

AristonAndOn · 05/07/2017 11:35

Some of the stuff I love, but the sizing can be hit and miss.

Dowser · 05/07/2017 11:53

Hit and miss
Annoying that you can't browse a store

BlahBlahBlahEtc · 05/07/2017 12:01

As pp said the clothes are nice but the quality is crap. For the price I've paid for their stuff it just wasn't worth it.

InigoTaran · 05/07/2017 12:04

That's a shame! I like their styles but never seen them in RL so don't know about the quality. From the prices I assumed the quality would have been pretty good.

sadmum2017 · 05/07/2017 12:06

I like Joe Browns and Mantaray at Debenhams, but the quality is awful as others have mentioned. I've had items fall apart after one cool wash. Such a shame.

Maudlinmaud · 05/07/2017 12:15

I've bought a few tweed jackets and coats from there but have definitely noticed a decline in quality, especially last autumn. For the price, think roughly £100 for the last item I bought it wasn't great. Buttons fell off within a few wears and the fabric bobbled under the arms. I don't think it's frumpy and get compliments. But it's my style in autumn, riding boots, white shirt and tweed blazer. I'm not exactly fashion central.

WatchingFromTheWings · 05/07/2017 12:26

I love them. Find the sizes and quality are good. Currently sat in one of their dresses! I tend to buy from Marisota rather than them direct as I find the stuff a bit cheaper especially when there are offers.

reuset · 05/07/2017 12:28

They used to be a bit eccentric art teacher, but now they just put me in mind of Per Una. Not the best quality.

Maudlinmaud · 05/07/2017 12:32

Reuset. 🙋 Here Miss. Eccentric teacher of the art's.

disastrouslee · 05/07/2017 12:34

Like others, some gikd some frumpy. DSis has ana amzing dress which looks fab on us bith. It is our go-to wedding reception dress and always gets compliments.

Some of the tunics are quite frumpy though.

I love the designs, sometime the cut can be a bit off...I had a size 18 strappy top a few years ago which is lovely but made for a almost flat bust.

Yes some of the quality isnt up to much. Stuff I bought in Autumn and has been washed a few times (not masses 3/4) have faded. I now wont buy anything full price as I don't think it worth it so wait for sales.

But, but...the designs are lovely and colourful if you can look past the frilly bo-ho dated stuff. OH calls it my wank mag

HappyGirlNow · 05/07/2017 14:49

Hate it... frumpy, weird and tree-huggerish..

FoofFighter · 05/07/2017 15:10

Sized for giants with long arms and legs

TerfwithaNerf · 05/07/2017 15:12

Yep definitely art teacher who writes etotic literature and practices reiki on the side.

Not a look I'm keen on.

NomDePlumeReloaded · 05/07/2017 15:19

Terrible fabrics.

BillywigSting · 05/07/2017 15:20

Used to be much nicer than it is now and quality has declined too.

I used to flick through the catalogue and would want something on every page, now I struggle to find one or two things a season. It's either frumpy, overly fussy or screams try hard hipster.

Some of their dresses are nice but arms tend to be cut very skinny and waists a bit too wide.

I will pay their sale prices for the quality but never full price.

Megbert · 05/07/2017 15:27

I love their designs but the quality of a lot of the clothes is really terrible.

I wore a brand new coat by them out for a day and noticed I was covered in blue dye from it when I got home. It had also rubbed off on the fabric of my mums kitchen chair.

BendydickCuminsnatch · 05/07/2017 15:33

Hate it... frumpy, weird and tree-huggerish..

This!

Megbert · 05/07/2017 15:45

Alas, some of us are frumpy, weird tree-huggers.

clairethewitch70 · 05/07/2017 15:48

I bought a Joe Brown skirt in Charity shop, lovely but the beads were falling off as it was being handled and had a broken zip. I have repaired it and it is lovely, not sure about if it was full price though.

PS I am a frumpy, weird tree-hugging witch. Grin

Megbert · 05/07/2017 15:56

Oooh! Merry meet, Claire.
