I've just used the last of a Sanctuary salt scrub thing that I was given as a gift.

It's lovely and I want to buy more, but OBVIOUSLY before I do, I need to ask here if anyone can recommend one? Needs to be a proper scrubber - none of this softly gently rubbish. Naice scent also essential.

TIA

Sea salt, almond oil and a couple of drops of whichever essential oil you like.

It's blooming gorgeous.

Ooh. Homemade. I hadn't thought of that.

I really am more of a shop-bought girl thoughBlush

Thank you all for your replies, I'm very grateful.

Body shop ones are very good imo

KatyS36 · 29/06/2017 09:09

Espa salt scrub , absolutely lovely but very spendy. I justify as I can get 10 at home treatments for price of one salon treatment which is a saving ☺️

SloanePeterson · 29/06/2017 09:13

There are two different ones from Soap and Glory which are amazing. Come in a big pink tub. I wasn't convinced about scrubs til I tried these, I've never had such smooth legs

BoobleMcB · 29/06/2017 09:17

Ok so stick with me on this, but Kiehls Man Soap...

It's a large exfoliating bar of soap, citrus scented (No idea why it's man soap) and its amazing! Nice and rough and scratchy and lasts ages!

This is the best body scrub I've ever used

I like the Body Shop ones too, and they've got a good sale on at the moment. Then again, they often have a good sale on; get on the mailing list so you know about them.

I like the Smoky Poppy and pink grapefruit ones. The latter really gets your skin tingling and your mouth watering.

A properly scrubby one is this. Messy as it's a dry scrub so best used in the shower

ACubed · 29/06/2017 12:13

Yes that coffee-coconut Grounded one is the best thing I've ever used. It is messy but feels quite fun putting it on I think!

MrsNutella · 29/06/2017 12:18

I have a question about a homemade scrub...

If using coffee grounds, can I "recycle" the grounds from my cafetière and use them in a scrub?

And do homemade scrubs keep well?

Sorry for the Hijack op, hope you don't mind. Grin

nothingwittyhere · 29/06/2017 13:27

The Garner one is nice, but would be much nicer if it didn't have polyethelene microbeads in it. I'm surprised it hasn't been reformulated yet, considering microbeads are being banned in various countries for polluting the world's oceans.

sparechange · 29/06/2017 13:29

The nicest one in the world is the Laura Mercier fig scrub
It costs a fortune but lasts forever.
MIL usually buys me a jar for my birthday and I can eek it out for at least 9 months

kthxbai · 29/06/2017 13:34

Not at all, nutella, crack on! Grin

Thank you all for the replies and recommendations. I'm going to do some research.

I use Laura Mercier tinted moisturiser so am a fan of that brand anyway. I'm off to google just how pricey their scrub is.

Also intrigued by the Body Shop ones. I like their smells.

I have just bought the Clarins one. It is just enough scrub (hoping to use daily and treated myself)

If I want to remove stubborn tan I use cocoa brown tough stuff and it is fantastic but a little rough for daily use

kingjofferyworksintescos · 29/06/2017 13:41

Happy naturals are lovely , my local Sainsbury's stock them and they are a reasonable price

Kursk · 29/06/2017 13:42

Sarandipity soap co makes some excellent stuff!

EnidButton · 29/06/2017 13:52

Soap & Glory sugar crush body scrub. Very scrubby, lots of oils. Smells like limes. Skin feels really soft and smooth afterwards. Best one I've used.

newnameoldme · 29/06/2017 13:54

I have only recently become a convert to home made scrubs, i used to go to a lovely spa salon but moved so googled a bit and now regularly use.

Tips are use a cheaper solid coconut oil if you don't like a strong coconut smell.

My favourite is a coconut oil mixed with honey and granular sugar. add a drop of almond essence for a delicious marzipan or vanilla. Coffee grounds or finely chopped mint or dried lavender are great too.

Leviticus · 29/06/2017 17:49

Can I ask how people scrub please? As in wet or dry skin, how often and are there any body parts to avoid?

I've never got to grips with scrub but I have a nice pot of Ren scrub in the cupboard.

SapphireStrange · 29/06/2017 17:51

Wet skin (in shower). I try to do it most days. I concentrate on rough or dry skin like elbows, knees, shins and backs of my arms, and go gently over ageing areas like decolletage too.

Ren products are beautiful. I'm very envious!
