Recommend me an amazing body scrub please

I've just used the last of a Sanctuary salt scrub thing that I was given as a gift.

It's lovely and I want to buy more, but OBVIOUSLY before I do, I need to ask here if anyone can recommend one? Needs to be a proper scrubber - none of this softly gently rubbish. Naice scent also essential.

TIA

Thanks!

Mrsnutella it's used coffee grouds that I use, I make a batch and store in fridge. Lasts around two days but would only go in bin otherwise

beela · 29/06/2017 18:10

Crystallised honey. It's a humectant so it helps your skin retain moisture.

EnidButton · 29/06/2017 18:42

Levi I rub it on dry or ever so slightly damp skin as I like it to feel very scrubby iyswim. Then rinse off in the shower whilst still rubbing it in. I kind of scrub in up and down movements for arms and legs and circular got everywhere else. I avoid my upper chest as I have sensitive skin there but do everything else, including my back and armpits. I do my elbows, upper arms, knees and thighs the hardest. Just because they're my most dry bits. About 1-2 times a month. I also use the Soap & Glory one on my hands just before I paint my nails. Don't think there's a right or wrong way, just whatever works for you.

kthxbai · 29/06/2017 18:46

Levi I do it at the end of a bath or shower. Like others, I focus on knees, elbows, thighs and heels and go easy on thin skin areas such as chest. I follow with a body butter of some description whatever I have lying around

Ren Moroccan rose is gorgeous. Smells lovely, they do an oil too which I always use on holiday.

QueenoftheAndals · 29/06/2017 19:17

The dry coffee scrubs are the best, albeit messy. TK Maxx occasionally has loads of them in but I sometimes buy men from eBay.

QueenoftheAndals · 29/06/2017 19:17

MINE! I sometimes but mine from eBay. Men'd be nice but...

If that Sanctuary one is the one from Boots, look no further- it's the mutt's nuts as far as I'm concerned. Having said that I'm currently using one from &other stories which is nice but a bit sticky. Great smell though.

Gertiegoolash · 29/06/2017 20:01

Lush rub run run , smells nice too

Gertiegoolash · 29/06/2017 20:02

Ooops bloody autocorrect that's meant to say lush rub rub rub Hmm

Sanctuary used to do one called something like 'micro dermabrasion'. That was incredibly good. Really fine scrubby bits. I used to use it just on my elbows, knees and thighs. I can only find it on Amazon now though.

Ren Guerande sea Salt and with basil, rosemary & mint is my favourite, smells divine. It works best on dry skin, then rinse off in the shower. Really moisturising.

SashaSashays · 30/06/2017 00:32

There's a brand in Boots, called Miss Patisserie. I suspect it's aimed at the Kylie Jenner type market, BUT, they do fantastic scented scrubs and coffee ground scrubs.

REN, does great scrubs and Laura Mercier is to die for but I really like using the one you already have or the Soap and Glory one.

ChishandFips33 · 30/06/2017 07:39

Soap and Glory here too - smells great and leaves skin soft for ages after. Love their body butters too

Avoid the scrub with the beads in though (scrub of your life??) as they aren't good for the environment as they don't break down

Chrisinthemorning · 30/06/2017 07:44

I have tried loads but my favourite is the sanctuary salt scrub. I prefer oil/salt to foam/ grains.
If you want a treat Espa do a lovely salt/ oil one too but it's much more expensive and probably not worth the extra imo.

millifiori · 30/06/2017 08:12

This might be a stupid question, but all of you using home made coffee grounds scrubs - don't they block the drains in your bathroom? Salt scrubs dissolve but coffee grounds don't.

Teaandcake08 · 30/06/2017 09:02

I love the two big tubs soap and glory do, breakfast scrub and flake away, which is just supposed to be for legs apparently but I use it all over, really scrubby! Breakfast scrub smells yummy! Have had amazing results with both. Some lovely suggestions on here though so might have to branch out and try some others!

FreeButtonBee · 30/06/2017 10:38

ren sea salt one is my only repeat buy scrub. Rub on to dry skin, then dampen hands and rub all over again to get a second emulsifying scrub which really moisturises. then rinse in the shower. It is amazing.

Kth thanks for starting this thread! There are some brilliant looking products on here. One day I will make my own mostly for the mad glee of recycling coffee because I love coffee but I love the sound of some of these... I'm sure they smell delicious.

SoftBlocks · 30/06/2017 18:45

Bliss lemon and sage is gorgeous but horrifically expensive. The St Tropez one is good but might have microbeads not sure. Gram flour with sugar and olive oil is good and cheap but a bit drain - clogging.

Unicorn81 · 30/06/2017 19:31

Oh i love a scrub. My favs are any Rituals ones, soap and glory and a cheapo strawberry one from new look.
