Frumpy and old or actually ok sandals?

I am after some red sandals and have seen these, but they are on the 50plus website- and I am not 50plus...yet!

www.fiftyplus.co.uk/shop/natures-own-slingback-sandals-wide-e-fit/gq579/product/details/show.action?pdBoUid=2170#colour:Red,size:9

I need something with a bit of structure, and a small heel (or no heel). I really like them in black too. Are they old and frumpy?! I hate shoe shopping- I have big feet and there is never anything in the shops that suits me.

They are awful, like something out of Benidorm. 90s in a bad way!

allegretto · 22/06/2017 18:34

Frumpy, sorry.

Germgirl · 22/06/2017 18:35

Personally I think they're a bit frumpy. But I'm not exactly a fashion queen.
Have you tried Evans for larger sized shoes? I think they go up to size 10.

EarlessToothlessVagabond · 22/06/2017 18:35

Noooooooo!

MotherTroubles · 22/06/2017 18:37

Dear God. My eyes!

BreakfastAtSquiffanys · 22/06/2017 18:37

I wouldn't worry about potential frumpiness.
Current high fashion shoes are well fugly

londonpia · 22/06/2017 18:37

Er, so that's a no then?!

OP posts:
BikeRunSki · 22/06/2017 18:37

They are awful!

LineyWimey · 22/06/2017 18:38

I bought my best ever red sandals in an Evans sale - was just walking past and there they were on the display in the doorway.

londonpia · 22/06/2017 18:39

Breakfast- that's my thought anyway! Sometimes I seem shoes on here (giving you the eye, brogues!) and I think "URGH" and everyone else response is "stunning, where from??!"!

I don't bloody know. I give up! I am thinking of living in ultra maxi maxi dresses so one can see what I am wearing...

MelanieCheeks · 22/06/2017 18:40

Meh, as usual S&B says "frumpy" and I think "Oh those are quite nice!"

londonpia · 22/06/2017 18:40

Right -checking out Evans now...

OP, I had to click on your link, as I was intrigued by PPs' reactions.
I agree with all previous comments.
And now have pop-ups of other, equally Mrs Brady Old Lady shoes available from Fifty Plus.
I am 53.

londonpia · 22/06/2017 18:42

Thanks Melanie!

I'm 50 and I'd never wear those, sorry

SquitMcJit · 22/06/2017 18:43

Oh no. I clicked on the OP's link and now I am getting a pop up ad offering me more of these hideousshoes.

Sorry OP ( please don't buy the shoes)

SquitMcJit · 22/06/2017 18:46

Cross post with pandora Looks like lots of us will be enjoying the pop up ad.

Is this all a giant promo for 50 plus? It's not working

memyselfandisolodjsjajaj · 22/06/2017 18:46

My eyes actually hurtConfused

leccybill · 22/06/2017 18:49

These aren't quite as bad.

Frumpy and old or actually ok sandals?
FlippinNorah · 22/06/2017 18:50

I'm 53 with feet as wide as they're long and I wouldn't wear those.

FlippinNorah · 22/06/2017 18:51

And I'd have the scissors on those fringes as soon as look at them.
Which probably means they're fine Grin

londonpia · 22/06/2017 19:07

Squit, no, not an advert. Not that I'd admit it now, seeing as you're all unanimous in your dislike!

Not keen on the fringe look, sorry. Forgot about the Zalando website though/ I'll have a look once I can get DS2 to sleep

If you type in red sandals onto google then press the shopping tab at the top it will bring back a list of options for you.
